Muriel McKay's Remains Possibly Found 55 Years After Kidnapping

They uncovered a bone this morning while digging in the garden of an East London property in Bethnal Green. Muriel was snatched from her home in 1969 by brothers Arthur and Isam Hosein, who thought she was Rupert Murdoch's wife and demanded a 1 million-pound ransom. The brothers were convicted of her murder the following year, but her body was never recovered despite multiple police searches. The property in question was once a tailor's shop run by Percy Chaplin, who employed Arthur Hosein and served clients like the Crateswins. Last year Chaplin's daughter shared a tip with the McKay's near the end of her father's life, suggesting Muriel might be buried there. The family scanned the site last week before starting the dig today. A surveyor and diggers made the discovery and they immediately stopped work to call police. Forensics experts arrived, turning the garden into a crime scene.
