Murderer's Release Challenged by Justice Secretary

0:00On March 12, a convicted murderer who bludgeoned the dermatologist to death in Middlesbrough back in 1990 has been released from prison on the license. Reginald Wilson, now 61 and going by the surname Zincin, tricked his way into Dr. David Burkett's home pretending to be a courier before. Attacking him with a hammer, he got a live sentence with a 30-year minimum term after the brutal killing. Over the years, Wilson served this time, including Stins in open prison and made it to his fourth parole board hearing last November. The board decided he has shown good progress with no major concerns about his risk level, clearing him for release despite past issues like stealing. In prison, detectives at the time warned that Wilson would kill again at freed, and now Deputy Prime Minister David Lamy, who's also just a secretary, has, fought the decision hard. He first asked the board to reconsider, then sought to set it aside, but both efforts failed. Lamy has now lost a judicial review to challenge the release, sending a pre-action letter to the board.
