Murdered House Cleaner: Man Arrested

A 54-year-old woman named Paula Floyd was fatally stabbed Friday morning at a home in Orange County's Wingay community. The man accused is 53-year-old Matthew Vuckmer, who faces a first-degree murder charge after first responder spouted her with stab wounds just before 11.30 a.m. Vuckmer had hired Floyd as his house cleaner for more than 20 years. After the attack, he fled across state lines and was arrested without incident hours later by deputies in Grayson County, Virginia. Friends and family remember Floyd as a deeply kind person who smiled bright in lives and who would forgive easily. Their heart broken, grappling with the loss, and seeking justice along with answers to why this happened. Authorities are coordinating with Virginia officials to extradite Vuckmer back to North Carolina. They're also filing search warrants today for his truck to gather additional evidence from the crime. If Vuckmer skips his extradition hearing, he could return soon to face a judge in Orange
