MP's Husband Arrested, She Accepts Donation

0:00On March 10th, a suspended labor MP accepted a 2,400-pound donation from her husband's company just three weeks before his arrest, on suspicion of spying for China. Giovanni Reed, who represents East Kilbride and Strathaven, got the media training gift from Earthcott Limited on February 12th. Her husband, David Taylor, runs the PR and consultancy firm as its sole director. Earlier this month, on March 4th, Taylor was one of three men detained by counterterrorism police in London and Wales. The men, aged 39, 43, and 68, were released on bail until May. Reed's own consultancy has also taken more than 23,000 pounds in interest-free loans from two of Taylor's businesses. Reed has distanced herself from any wrongdoing, saying she never suspected her husband of breaking laws and stays out of his work.
