MP's Husband Arrested in China Spying Probe

Counterterrorism officers from the Metropolitan Police made the arrests on Wednesday at addresses across London and Wales. All three were questioned and then released on bail, with conditions running until May. Giovanni Reed, who represents East Kilbride and Strathaven and serves on the Home Affairs Select Committee, expressed shock and said she'd seen no signs. Her husband broke any laws. Taylor is registered as a lobbyist in her parliamentary interests. Earlier this week, Security Minister Dan Jarvis warned MPs that Chinese officials in the UK and Beijing had received stern rebukes. He linked the probe to broader efforts against foreign interference in UK democracy.
