MP Backs Residents in Winstanley Hall Housing Debate

The proposal from Kingswood Homes would turn the 13th century Tudor Manor into 26 apartments and add 396 homes on, nearby Greenland. It's all pitched as a way to fix up the crumbling historic site. The hall's been falling apart for over 25 years, with roofs caving in and plants taking over since around 2017. Members say their sensitive project has historic in winds backing, aiming to restore the building and outbuildings for homes and some community. Space while keeping its key features intact, residents aren't buying it, worried about losing precious green space they've never really accessed. Groups like Save Wind Stanley Greenbow want other ways to save the hall without paving over nature. Simons says he's met with folks, developers, and pushed for their voices to be heard loud and clear. Members are thrilled with the MP's stance, calling for the council to rethink everything
