5:55inspired by the first wave of ours announced with Sled Island which was absolutely awesome to see I think having clippin' during the guest selection was a phenomenal choice The Billy Woods is coming over and I'll definitely have to check hope that there's still tickets available at that time but he is one of my favorite rappers of all time and I think that was an awesome choice plus the wide plethora of experimental RSC brought over that you'll hear on this episode today some very legendary experimental ambient artists on this and that's what this first half is gonna be inspired by so go check it out, go check out Sled Island one of the greatest music festivals out there what you just heard there was a new artist a new local artist that was the track, the Rapids Run and that was by the artist Nick Sothra and that was from the Alm Whispers in the Four Steep

6:56she is an Australian Calgary artist that does mostly dark ambient work I kind of blends in a little bit of down tempo especially on her record after this the widest of which is also good very much more of the Trip Hop style but this record that you just heard here was very much more of the ambient very hypnotic poetic style very similar to remind me of something like music to play in the dark by coil phenomenal record I absolutely love that sort of like hybrid of loopy hypnotic ambient with like like very trippy poetry in the back really really great stuff next we're gonna be listening to just going ahead and going to just into the ambient here this is local artist Greg Block we're gonna be listening to next this is from his most recent single Aquafina Globe Fix

Virtual Star Nature is made up of two artists, one from Latvia and the R1 from Russia, one is by the name VSX, and the R1 goes by the name Plunder Nature. And as you imagine from that name, this album is very much focused on plunder phonics, which I think have more than one sort of set in the show that I really, really love it when artists take samples and just sort of aptly warp and distort them and create something new within it. I feel like this album sort of encompasses it. Really amazing sort of like drony, very much a slow paste track that like I, this is the sort of stuff I really liked that that people did for with Vape Wave, but like,

25:43you know, sort of my as the whole like, you know, aesthetical trappings of it, which you know, it's always nice to see people still containing the sort of style. And before that, you listen to the track Aquafina by Greg Block from the album Aquafina or the single Aquafina Loebfish. I'm going to be listening to a special track, and we're going to be kicking off the first artist from the Sled Island going to be listening to. This is the legendary loragy we're going to be listening to, which is who's going to be coming to town here for the Sled Island, and I am super, super excited. They are a one of the most underrated, um, what maybe underrates the wrong word, definitely like very, very well sober in their own field, but definitely one of the greatest ambient artists out there, probably best known for his collaboration with Brian Eno on the ambient three day of radiance. His entire career has just been sort of a, this wild blend of his very spiritual ambient playing across many different instruments and styles, and it's just

26:47absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend, would not be playing it, but I highly recommend everyone to listen to, uh, his archival release, SIG to Infinity, which was a quarterback in 1978, absolutely incredible stuff. What we are going to be listening to is a cut off of his compilation record Cosmic Take Experiments 1979 to 1987. We're going to be listening to, uh, reduced track, sort of a bridged one called Unicorn Unicorns in Paradise, which is originally a over an hour long track released, uh, originally made in 1981, but released in 2015. We'll be listening to it here on C just W 90.9, so prepare yourself, sir. It's, uh, it's pretty incredible stuff.

44:34C J S W 90.9, uh, this is Mon Bailey attuned into host by yours truly Milan, Ueno, and, uh, yeah, we're just ending off this first hour, some really, really great serve, um, very, um, hypnotic, uh, electronic, like adjacent stuff. Uh, what you just listened to there was a new release by the phenomenal German artist, Katarina Barbieri, who I heard about thanks to her fantastic record, ecstatic computation, and, uh, phantasm variation, which includes some really, really excellent remixes of that previous album. Uh, by artist like, uh, J Mita, who does a singellic cover of, uh, the track, Cali Malone's on there, Carlos Malone Coverdale, Avley Phnomel, let's get away from, uh, the actualist. Yep, uh, she does a wide mix of, uh, various kinds of, uh, electroc music, but very much sort of like, very new AG, I put that in heavy

45:36quotation marks because that can mean literally anything, and very much sort of synth-focused, what's called progressive electroc, but it's very much like atmospheric, very sort of like, you know, hypnotic and whatnot, it's really, really wonderful stuff, and that was her newest record with, uh, collaboration of the, uh, Norwegian artist, Bendick Gisk, who plays the saxophone, and that was from the album At Source. That was the opening track of the release, Intuition Nimbus. It was lovely, lovely atmosphere on there, and it's just highly recommend checking out. There's just really, really amazing interplay between the two on this record, very much, very minimal, not as sort of like, as electronic from what I've heard. Maybe I'm wrong though, but, um, yeah, it's really, really phenomenal, like, stuff from what I've heard. And, uh, before that, listen to the track Unicorns and Paradise by the legendary Luragin from the Alm Cosmic Tape experiments, 1979 to 1987, which you can actually find on streaming, and there's a couple of bonus records

46:40that were from the, uh, the original, uh, cassette released in 2013 on All Saints, and which can include some really, really great stuff on here, including a, uh, uh, like, uh, a bunch of, sort of, uh, copy of, like, some, uh, abbreviate stuff from, like, uh, content stuff from some of the three records, like, all-pervading coming from that Sega Infinity, dance number three from the legendary, uh, Brian Enoelm, and there's even a 17-minute, astral jam featuring the RS Blues control. Really nice stuff. And before that, yeah, that was it. But, uh, up next you're going to be listening to some, you're going to be listening to some, uh, like, a little bit more quiet stuff, and then we're going to, again, to a little bit of the way to segway us into the really, really heavy stuff. This is another arse that's going to be appearing at this year's Let Island. This is Robert Aikii Obri-Low out of Brooklyn. We just listened to a bunch of ambient in the first hour. Now we're just going to be listening to straight noise. What's been happening, new of noise. And it's going to be a lot of fun. Still continuing on with the sled island theme. What you just listened to there was the phenomenal. Lana Del Rabies. And this is from her newest record, Omnipotent Fuck. And that was the track, The Soil Equity.

1:06:50This is a second installment in a trilogy record. Records starting off with last year's The Tempts, The Endra. And this is a concept of records exploring how arrows affects the subconscious mind as described. And particularly this release describes a sort of depicts a very stream of consciousness. A sort of record about romantic and sexual possession by a demonic figure, as is described on Bandcamp. And you could definitely hear that very much sort of like, you know, sort of very, very textural, very much sort of intense lyrics on this track. And yeah, just in standard Lana Del Rabies fashion, there's just a lot of very heavy sounds. Very heavy tone and whatnot, just absolutely incredible as expected for her. And she is also playing at sled island this year, which I was super excited to see. So make sure to keep your eye on it out for that in June.

1:26:08Really nice very like club like industrial track that featured the vocals of the singer Disfig who also had a fantastic record with the legendary sludgy, very noisy drone male group The Body. Members are leapfaring Chip King, one of those prolific, it was heavily heavily overrated underrated underrated that's why I meant underrated very much sort of like more in the industrial side rather than the actual like metal side and really highly recommend checking this out and that sort of really the energy still chattel over to this record where it's like very much more the electronic side of industrial rather than the metal side but the very the energy and sort of that same tension is still there and I absolutely love it. Before that you listen to a new release by Morgan, a local experimental noise artist that was there that was from the album Net Noise 1.0

1:27:12and that was the track Multitred. This is a 15 minute album comprised of sort of like sort of compilation of and rearrangement of sounds created from computer networks and as described this actually uses network packets as sources material as the source material and Morgan's like sort of splices together sort of the the different computer sounds made from those packets to create sort of like this very wild and very sort of you know air deck and very unpredictable release and it's really really wonderful stuff while my favorite noise releases this year so far. Before that you listen to the track vaporizer by gas giant from the album post haze. This really really nice sort of a sound collage aspects there sort of like the very unique sort of sounds and textures going on there really always love the stuff that gas giant and zepto second records put out very very unpredictable of what will happen next up next we're going to be listening to a um

1:28:14speaking of a sound collage we're going to be listening to a long track by the orce beauty head this is from their record collected city sounds volume 1 and believe it or not this isn't this it's sort of true but it's also sort of not true because it's like as you'll listen to here it's a little bit more than just field recordings but this is the track we're going to be listening to breathing hard into pounding neon glow and every episode has a long song silver guarantee which means that every episode must have at least one song above 10 minutes now we already achieved that with the loraji track earlier but we're gonna go full ahead with this one this is oh this is almost 20 minutes of just absolute chaotic noisy goodness we're gonna be playing it now here on C gsw 90.9 i hope you enjoy it
