Mother, Son Drown in River Brent Tragedy

0:00On April 28, a 34-year-old mother and her seven-year-old son tragically drowned in the river Brent at Elthorn Park in Ealing, West London. It happened just before 4.30 p.m. on Saturday when the boy got into trouble while cooling off in the water, and she jumped in to save him. Both were pulled out but pronounced dead right there at the scene. Witnesses say the kid looked hot, ran ahead, and leaped right in with his mom following seconds later. They struggled against strong currents in deep water as she held on to him. Another person even jumped in to help, but had to let go because the current was too fierce, and the whole thing unfolded over about 10 minutes. The Met Police are calling it a heartbreaking accident with no suspicious circumstances.
