Mother's Private Scan Reveals Thyroid Cancer

0:00On March 23, a 35-year-old mother near Rochdale spent months pushing for answers after doctors dismissed her symptoms as signs of a busy life with kids. Extreme fatigue, hair loss, heart palpitations, trouble swallowing, and neck lumps started last June, but visits to her GP kept ending with. Reassurances, it was just a virus. She saw her doctor six times in June and July alone, only to hear her swollen lymph nodes came from her six and nine-year-old kids bringing home. Germs, frustrated, she paid for a private ultrasound at the end of July, which spotted multiple thyroid nodules and suspicious lymph nodes. A follow-up biopsy came back clear, so they scheduled another scan in six months, but her pain got worse, leading to 12 more GP visits with no progress. Earlier this week in December, a second private scan showed the nodules and nodes had grown bigger. That finally got her referred to an ear, nose, and throat specialist for a thyroid biopsy in early February. On February 16, she learned she had thyroid cancer,
