Mother Charged with Baby's Murder After Fall from Window

Her 18-day-old baby girl died from severe head injuries after falling from a third-floor window in their Westminster flat on Saturday morning. The father called emergency services at 7.30 a.m., saying the baby had fallen. Paramedics and police arrived quickly and rushed to infant to the hospital, but she passed away two and a half hours later from a skull fracture. Inside the flat, officers found the mother on the bed while the father had been preparing formula in the kitchen at the time. He rushed outside, but couldn't reach the baby before calling for help. She faces murder charges after an initial arrest for attempted murder. The mother missed her first court appearance at the Old Bailey on Wednesday due to health issues. Prosecutors outlined the case and the judge scheduled a plea hearing for June 3rd with a trial set for February 15th, 2027. She's being held in custody as the investigation continues.
