I'm Tito, Jeff, that off. Houston, Bobby Carp, he's on my left. Morning, Bobby. To call me Houston. Wait, just going off yesterday? What we talked about? What's the theme from yesterday? Well, San Antonio. Who's from Boglade, Florida? Right, but like we talked about why he might've been named San Antonio. I don't know. I just opened this computer. I've never had the audio on it. I don't know how that is. We can work through it. Wow. We know how to... We do have a big show lined up for you today. Yeah. I'm sorry. That's okay. That's what everybody wants.

They're going for the buck, guys. We know this is it. You get this win. You feel pretty good about life. Yes. I think so too. Then they hosted the announce Saturday. The buck guy is 18 and 11 overall. 10 and 8. The big 10. Caves beat Detroit last night. One 13 to 109. Caves off until they played Boston Sunday. That's a, that's a beefy back. I should say back to back. So I'm back beefy two games though. They're both beefy. Yes. I thought of a Mitchell last night too. I think Caves ones have been playing really well now for a couple of months and change. They have been Detroit. The top team in the East and the Caves are now I think fourth in the East.
The Jackets beat Nashville last night. Three to two CBJ stays three points behind Boston for wild card two spot. Radio. Yes, CBJ. So that was pretty excited about that. That's a good one. Was that the one slakes? Was that them see their last night? It was. Okay. Thankfully he confirmed. Despite the fact that I was able to secure him tickets and give him through one of our guys. For him as for his son is birthday. They're going to the game. Buck guy's going to be a fun time. And I'm like, hey, just the tickets were sent over just confirmed to me. So I can confirm to my friend that you received them. Friend works in the at the Jackets. He got a lot of stuff going on on game day. That was on Sunday night. Monday. Oh, sorry, bro. It's so much going on. Buck guys will check soon. Yesterday. I let me walked up to him while they were warming up in between. I'm like, hey, have you checked yet? Yeah. Bob is so busy, bro. I'll get on it soon. That's that. I don't know. Eight. Thirty. Right.
At one. No, not even. I was already sat down and do Mike some shows with three twenty. I broke. Can't find him in my email. All right, dude. Now we're inside four hours from game time. Okay. The people that are doing this. They work on game days. They have things going on outside of this. And then thankfully ten minutes later. It's about to check my spam. Check other things. Found the tickets. Which was good. Like I'm doing a favor for you because someone was able to do a favor for me. Right. Don't have me overextend what it is that I what I ask for people. And then if I'm asking for it and they deliver, then then we're not utilizing it. That is a huge pet peeve of mine. So. Yeah. Thankfully it all worked out. All is well then as well. Okay. Bob and you revealed what I'm saying. I was not something not breaking news. You got the tickets to Nash. That's you got them through. That's cool. You said you said you said yesterday. You got tickets to Nash. Yeah. My guy Rick. Your guy Rick who works. It works there.
I think I don't know what he is down. He's the assistant GM. I don't know. He's got some fairly big title. But I'm assuming like anytime I've seen him on game days. He's been fairly busy. So I'm like, so like you coach. You want some of Colin and Texan you about tickets. Right. You know four hours of four game. Come on man. Let's get it together. It gave you plenty of time to look this up. Do we have angry Bob this morning? I'm not angry. I just I know who he is. I love him. Right. I'm like you could have been expected. I'm having any time. No, no, no, no. You get your butt in there. You get on your even you get check your email at five o'clock when you get into the party before you start doing anything else. But it wasn't as important to you. That's why if it's important you prioritize it. I asked you to do this. You asked me for something. Right. I got it done. All I'm asking is that you confirm it to make sure that it doesn't go. It doesn't go wasted. Oh, I wish you over to number five. See they played any other Nebraska on Thursday. Look guys are 24 and six overall 13 to five in the big 10.
And now I had the story on it. I was going to add to it Bobby. But I think I know I can relate to it here. How are you going to feel about it? I think her name is Kaya. Win. Kaya. Win. Okay. She reserved guard for Tennessee women's basketball. Sounds good. All right. Said yesterday she's leaving the program. All right. Because she said there's she there was a slight this weekend that she felt was a breaking point. They played their their regular season finale against number five Vanderbilt. And they lost by 10 points. Win didn't play in the game. Senior day. She's a senior. She appeared in just nine games this season. Missed all of last season with Achilles tendon injury. She spent five years in with the program. And she was very upset that she did not play on senior day. This is what she said. This decision was not made lightly or instantly. For the past five years I've given up my all for Tennessee. And I'm not regretted doing so once. Obviously my last two seasons of the team have been lost. But less than ideal for many reasons. But the one night I was looking most forward to was a senior night.
And she wanted to start. They wouldn't let her. They tried to put her to the 15 seconds left. That bothered her said. So she respectfully declined. She declined. And she said it's not I want to spend the she's had to be asked to check into the game with 15 seconds left while losing was not how I wanted to spend my final moments in my arena after five years. Although this is not the sole reason it was the breaking point for me. I have the utmost love and respect for my teammates. Maybe not. And that's my me saying maybe not in this program and wish everyone everything but the best nothing with the best. And she so she played 18 games this season. But she was angry because she didn't get to play more on senior day. And so that was the breaking point for her. Thought it was disrespectful. Astrid's going to the 15 seconds left on the losing cause. So now she, you know, SEC tournament, NCAA tournament. I assume 10 you'll be in both of those there. Well, it won't be the NCAA tournament. But they're 16 or 12, 8 and 8. But nonetheless. Kind of weird to leave the team at this point, Bob, right?
I don't know why you leave at this point. Where are you going? Well, she's done. No, she's her career's over now. That's right. What are you going to go? Right. Why wouldn't she just. Right. Pardon me for not being in. In ignorant about this. I mean, is Tennessee a tournament team? No, there's 16 and 12 overall. They'll be maybe. What happened to them? It's hard. I don't know. I mean, Pat summit. Pat summit died. And then we just fall apart. I guess so. She retired. And like that's Tennessee basketball. I like that. 16 and 12 now. Yeah. Maybe they're the Nebraska of women's basketball. You know, lose a legendary coach. Never get back to those heights. Tom Osborne still alive. I know he's not dead. But I'm saying we left the program though. I'm not trying to kill Tom Osborne. I just said that. I know. Right. Solish did a good job. Solish was. Solish did a decent job. Yes. Decent. Yeah. I think it was decent. I would put him. Based upon their current standards, what would you say they'd been then? Well, I think they've been mediocre or best. So how? Okay.
Hold on. So. I want you to partial parcel out the difference between decent and mediocre. The decent mediocre. Okay. I would say that decent is. You're going to go get a meal. Okay. At a restaurant. And someone. That's like how the meal was. You said it was decent. And then you had to meal somewhere else. You said it was mediocre. Please tell me the differences between those two experiences. We're going to go to the five star system, Bob. Tennessee. I think decent is a three star. I think mediocre is two and a half. Oh, okay. So it's a five line. Massive difference. It's a one thing. Cook me. Both are more eloquent ways of saying that. Yeah. It's a five line. Massive difference. It's a one thing. Cook me. Both are more eloquent ways of saying average to me. So. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe I'm. Maybe I'm looking at the fine to his cone. That's fine. But I think that. I think that. Yeah. I think decent is three mediocre is two and a half. Okay. God, we can't keep voting poll questions like this. He's got to come up with his own. I'll say. This is the most Tennessee woman's basketball. I thought we'd ever talk. Yeah. I know. Yeah. I know. You're going to get to BYU football in a minute. Yeah.
Lots to get into the pizza. Uh, where we at now. Okay, Bob. If you look. Is it a beefy, this date in history? I need to do that ahead of time. Uh, I mean, Cody, what do you think? I would say it's fairly robust. You call it decent, Bob. I mean, is it decent mediocre? I would say it's strong to quite strong. There we go. It's three and a half star then. Uh, Cody, do I need to get my voice cleared for singing? Um, yeah. You got a couple. Here we go now here. This is fantastic. Let's do it. Time to get smarter. Morning, Houston presents today in history. Here's your professor, Bobby Carpenter. Take it away, Houston. Oh, boy. It is Wednesday, March 4, the 63rd day of the year. 302 days remaining in this 2026. This date, 1493 Christopher Columbus returns back to Lisbon, Portugal. A board denina after reaching the Bahamas in the West. He left from Portugal.
He said he returned to Portugal. I did. Yeah. Was Portugal back or did he leave somewhere? Do you know the story of Christopher Columbus? Yeah, Chris Columbus was a guy. He had three ships and only one of them was really good. One of them got here. Do you know where he was? Like, what kind of Italy wasn't he? Yeah. Okay. He's Italian. He wasn't Italy. He was Italian. All right. He's from Italy. But then the Italian, like, he couldn't get finance from Italy. That's why I had to go to Ferdinand and Isabella, who they were the ones who funded him out of Portugal. Okay. That's all. Yeah. It's good to know about. I wish I would have gone over that in history class. I think they did. Right out that name. Load management. Sick. They can watch it. I don't know. I don't know. Your dad doesn't seem like that type of guy. This date, 15 at 19. Hernán Cortez. We got a lot of conquistador stuff today. Arrives in Mexico. Searched to begin his search for the Aztec gold. Found it.
Murdered a lot of people. Got the gold back. It's pretty off. This date, well, that's how history. I mean history is written by the winners. That's right. All right. Winston Churchill. History will be kind to me for I intend to write its pages. That's right. That's right. That's a great line. That's pretty good. That is a great line out of you. I like that. I like that a lot. This date, 1789, New York City. The first congressional Congress meets putting the U.S. Constitution into effect. Yep. You know, that's where the Congress used to meet. The Capitol before Washington, D.C. You didn't know that. I didn't know that. Come on, Bob. I'm not an idiot. Yeah. This date, 17. Johnny. Do you know what the first state walk? The first state was after the 13 original colonies. The first state after the 13 original? I know it wasn't West. So you said, OK.
So the 13 original colonies became states. Uh-huh. That's true. Now we need the next one. Yes. Who is the first, like, the first expansion franchise. OK. But it sports side for you. First expansion franchise. So 13. I am going to guess randomly here, Bob, because I didn't prep for this, because you've decided that we decided I should be be hid from your research. Um, West Virginia. I can't even accept that as an answer. West Virginia wasn't. It wasn't. Brody, do you know when West Virginia became a state? I do not, Bob. I'm sorry. 1978. It was. It was in the 1863. Oh, OK. That's the way it was then. 61 whenever it was. Ohio. They split off. They split off from Virginia during the Civil War. North Carolina. Until the Civil War, West Virginia was not a state. So Ohio, we talked about in 1803 on March 1st, Sunday becoming a state,
which I think was the 17th I want to say. I think you're right on that. Yeah. There we go. The chatter should have put an answer in this one. I could read it. I think. Poor record. Yeah, even. What do you got? What was it? If you would have given me something that was at least coast or coast of Jason, I would have been. All of those have been acceptable. Maine. That would have been more acceptable. Maine was. Maine was part of Massachusetts. I believe New Hampshire was one of the 13 original. I thought so too. I think you're correct. Whatever. I've been right beside of Maine is Vermont. Oh, Vermont. It's for your die. That's right. It's for your stay mono. They're the 14th state. I believe Florida was the 15th. I don't know who the 16th was. I don't know how it was the 17th. I think that that's how that all shakes out. Oh, gosh. It's sad. I just might just skip this next one. Oh, come on. I got a little guess. 1794, the 11th amendment has passed. I'm not going to begin. It allows it allows non-state residents to sue other states and federal court.
That's way beyond your understanding. John Adams in 1797 is inaugurated as the second president of the United States. You are aware of that. This is funny. Found in 1865, Andrew Johnson makes his vice president inaugural speech. They called it the drunk address because apparently he had been drunk the entire week. So good news is you can drink your way into the presidency. You just have to make sure the guy in front of you gets whacked. The state 1957, the S&P 500 is introduced for placing the S&P 90. This state 1966, my grandma used to reference this all the time. John Lennon tells a London evening standards that the bills are more popular than Jesus. And my grandma used to always say, how much do you hear about the Beatles now?
John Lennon is dead. So I hear a ton of about him. You know, like my one friend, we were playing Notre Dame in the 2005 festival and he said blank touchdown Jesus. I said, you might want to re-kit. You might want to watch what you say there, buddy. And he tore his ACL on the open kickoff. And he looked at him walking off. He's like, don't say anything. I told you, you might want to put a lid on that, buddy. What the name of Paul McCartney, were you doing? Exactly. And then this date 1967, hitting it number one with the Rolling Stones or Ruby Tuesday. Good bye, Ruby Tuesday. Who could hang a name on you? I like to let me a little Ruby Tuesday. My mom used to love that. 1972 bad finger day after day is certified gold.
Oh, that little banger right there for you. This is my, I love, I love Holland notes. And they recorded my favorite song of theirs on this day in 1976. Rich girl. You were rich girl. And you're going too far because you know it don't matter anyway. You can rely on the whole best money. You can rely on the whole best money. It's a, yeah, I love it. I didn't know what that song was about until Shark told me. And kind of, because I always enjoyed it. It's not like a fun song. My kids sing it all the time. My daughter is one of her favorite songs. It's not a happy song. A happy song at all. And then this date 1985, the FDA approves a blood test that will certify, proves a blood test. I guess that for the discovery or, I don't know if it's not really a clinical diagnosis,
but of the discovery of AIDS. So you got that going 40th and off. 41 years ago today. Oh, 39 years now. You kind of got me in a bit of a normal hole there. I know when I tried to found the sound, Bob, because I was like, do you have AIDS? It's like, well, I don't think so. I was just trying to maybe. But let me check. Let me take this test. It was more advertisements than YouTube. Well, I can imagine that. But some big birthdays today. I can't wait to hear what you got from this born this date. 1888. 13 seasons, 100 wins. Three national titles. The Gipper himself, Newt Rockney. We're going inside them. We're going outside them. Inside them now, outside them. Have we got them on the run once? We're going to keep them on the run. And we're not going to pass. How much time secondary comes up too close. But don't forget, man. We're going to get them on the run. We're going to go. Go, go, go. Don't forget, man. Today, today, we're going to win. They can't look at it.
And look back on it all. The fight was really bad with them. Fight, fight, fight, fight, fight. What do you think, man? We're going to win. Gipper and Lou Gehrig are both like Obi-Wan Kenobi. Help us Obi-Wan? No, they became stronger, more powerful and death. There might be some food to that. I appreciate a lot of people. I thought you were going to maybe pull Sean Austin from Rudy during the impersonation of the Gipper. That's true. We're going to go, go, go. That's honestly, I don't know if I think I've heard that much more than the original. So that has become what it is to me. More on the state in 1938, Mr. Don Perkins, Cowboys, running back three time all pro with them in the 60s, turning 81 today, former Ohio State Coach for Hoops National Championship winner. You want me to talk? You know who it is? It's basketball? Yeah. What year was he born? 1981. He's still alive.
You want a national championship in basketball? Yeah. Not at Ohio State. No, not at Ohio State. Oh, not at Ohio State. That's what I got, the Gary Williams. There you go. Okay, yeah. Does it take some fires enough to the top of the Georgia Don Group and the kids have done it. Maryland wins their first ever national championship. And as much as the win was the completion of an incredible chase for the players, it was also vindication for a coach who had waited 24 years to fulfill his own dream of bringing the ultimate prize to his alma mater. National champs. One, two, three. National champs! Yeah! Yeah, I think, because Fred Taylor's the only one who win it for the state in 1960. That's why I said it. Well, yeah. But he was a former Ohio State coach, and he did win a national championship. I just didn't say here. I was seeing if you're going to pick up on that. It's a little shabby twist. Partlessly in the world's words. Emilio Estefan turning in 73 today. The husband of Gloria, part of my Emmy. Sound machine. Lucky guy. Zach Thomas said he's awesome too.
Oh, really? Yeah. He showed me these pictures one time. I was like, who is that? He's like, well, that's Emilio Estefan. I'm like, it's a glorious husband I'm assuming. He's like, oh, he's the best. He would love him. It's like perfect. Get him on the show. Get him off. He's 73. No. Exactly. Kevin Johnson, former Phoenix son's point guard in the 55th mayor of Sacramento turning 60 today. In the corner of your alley and in your face. Kevin Johnson. This is a huge effort by Kevin Johnson. This is the only way you're going to get there. And a large one picks up his point. That's a highlight. You'll be seeing that on your local newscast. Kevin Johnson. Look at the determination and sensitivity in this man's soul. Those sons teams. That sons team actually was fun to watch with Barclay and KJ. Oh. They were there.
Marley. They were great. They were. They were awesome. Do miss. And the big O. Oliver Miller. Is he R.A.P. I think Oliver was dead, isn't he? I'm not positive. It was fun to watch. They were really good. It's running 54 today. What are the best running backs in Ohio? State history. Mr. Robert Smith. Smith at 133 yards. The Vikings lead at seven nothing. Third quarter first. And seven of the Vikings. Again, it's Smith. Now watch him make the move on John Lynch. And he's down to the 32 yard line of Tampa Bay. Colt Pepper. The little screener. Robert Smith. And watch Chris Carter. Number eight outfield. Right there. And he ends up taking out two guys the way it ended. Smith. 173 yards. It's total offense. 103 on the ground. Second quarter. Same score. 147. Bikes. The fake end around the mosque. Smith. It's a touchdown interesting call. The big O. Oliver Miller, by the way, passed away about a year ago. March 12th last year. And of cancer. Cancer wins again. And. It's undefeated. Yes.
I know. In April, 2011 Miller. I didn't forgot about this. It was accused of pistol whipping a man during an altercation in the bar. That sounds great. He was arrested and charged with first and second reasons. He used to be involved. But him and Gilbert Arena's playing together. Well, they did or not. I'd love to hear this next guy. I love the fact that you brought the pistol with you. The second thing. You didn't fire. You choose to beat him with it. Listen, if you go to a barbecue, it would have to take a pistol. I think you had a question whether the barbecue is the right spot for you. No, I mean. What do you think Derek Rose said? You want to spend all the time in barbecue when he was done playing? Can't walk. It's. Ah. Four-time NBA champ. Four-time All-Star. Summer for the pistol whips and people on the court maybe. Oh, yeah. Well, maybe a bag tag. The growing collector himself, Mr. Dremon Green. He'll just picked up his third foul. And now Green runs over at Nerkich and he'll be caught for the foul. And they're going to take a look at this. Green just plows right over Nerkich. Oh, man. Well, that's going to be a flagrant.
Well, that is a swipe across the face. Green makes unnecessary and excessive contact to the face. The foul has been up against him. The foul has been up against him. The green has been ejected from the game. There you go. That's it. Dremon Green is out. Not too fat, Jesus. I wouldn't call that a swipe. I wouldn't call that a swipe. I would have caught it a punch, frankly. I wish you could have got one of them just kicking people on the sack. The bad, I tried, but the bad is the audio was kinda. They were just like, Oh, yeah. He's like, oh, yeah. He's like, how do you describe that? Yeah. Yeah, he kicked them right in the cross. That's intentional. Yeah. It looks like he's. It looks like he's. The seventh time had happened. Yeah. The goal was by Zanklow, but we'll kick him down there. Another big bucki birthday turning in 34 today. Mr. Jared Solinger. We have to add the Solinger. Perfect pass bounced in there for the assistant. Solinger has too more.
Thomas Robinson I thought was gonna grab hold of it unable to I think so and you got a hand on that one Jim from behind Excellent defense by Jared so There we go. I thought you're gonna get some Celtics clips there. I Thought about it. He was a part of the team that ended Golden States NBA record home winning streak back in 2016 I think it was and man never turn around that team. It's a lot of bucks. Yes, E.T. 3 Some pastings today pass you away on this date 2019 one of the legendary Pop icons from my youth 902.0 star mr. Luke Perry Hey, John. Hey Kelly Brendan, I were just talking. Which do you think guys like best on girls longer short hair? Oh, that's a deep question Personally, I prefer blonde. I really care about the hair. I'll be honest really truly
So you're Brandon's sister, huh? Yeah, Brandon's sister Yeah, she's Brandon's sister Bye girls Oh, what a heartthrob then he was one of Bo Bishop's favorites, but I mean I could see that Maybe you didn't work that in the in the fan pole today. Yeah Get some get a Luke Perry question in there and then losing a legend on this date 1994 mr. John candy. You're the guy who tried to get my cab I know I knew you. Yeah, you scared the but Jesus out of me Come to think of it was awful easy to get a cab during rush hour forget it. I can't forget it I am sorry. I had no idea that was your cab. Yes I was there for like nine or two weeks. I was there when I wasn't where army training sir. He was the 23rd president and Okay, I don't know why it's Benjamin Harrison day because he was born on August 20th and died on March 13th Okay, feel better about that. Not an act. It's not a national holiday today. It's not it is HIV awareness day though Hug a GI day as well in Breaks Bob
Oh national pound cake day national grammar day national snack day. How about that and World obesity day. See that by weekend. Don't don't don't get your player. Look at you. I got a 63 number for you They're both yeah, six days this six days are tough. Yeah Doug van Horn He blocked for your dad. There you go. Good job. They don't were 63 for the New York Giants But coming next, what could you buy for nearly 270 million? We'll discuss that next The national champion NFL veteran and local business leader the other man is Pido. This is morning juice Sponsored by Riverside Bank of Dublin. Here's Bobby and Tito Morning juice Tito Houston Cody Bob in 2023 hmm that's been a bit of hot minute 12 that that's been three years ago. Yes, so in 2023
Is when Jimbo Fisher Got the started getting the 77.6 million dollar buy-out. Yeah That year there was a record 123 million. I'm sorry. I wanted 32 million Um paid out two coaches that were fire without cause like that's the initial thing I'll granted there's things with like you know the offset language right might have changed But that was the initial that was the buyout that was the most per the contracts of this gentleman never worked again Uh hold my beer the ones that were fired without cause last season The numbers a new record 132 was the record the new record 270 million Paid out as far as it that that's what's it contractually obligated to It's actually nearly 270 is 268 and a half Led by a Notre Dame legend Brian Kelly And then he's was 53.2 million Tried to make that for cause. I don't think they got it done. I don't think they did either it is because
I gave him yes James Franklin was at 48.6 million But now it's nine million after they had a settlement and he took the job at botek Mark stupes Kentucky 37.6 Jonathan Smith 33 million from Michigan state BilliNapier 21.2 million few frees 15.8 Mike Gundy 15 Justin Wilcox 10.8 Bob Duke Things like this Mean that football coaches And at the clouds over the highest levels have more job security or less What do you mean by job security? Does it mean you're going to get compensated? No, what I mean is like I mean they're getting paid regardless of whether or not they're coaching So you don't have a job, but you're getting paid anyway. Are there coaches for a job that you didn't do well Do you think because like all these coaches negotiate these kind of buyouts and stuff and Does that make it harder to fire a coach? Well, of course it does. Oh, that's I said that's one of the buyouts in there That's what that's why I'm asked like is it is it so like there might be coaches out there right now
More so than in the past That won't get fired because of that number I think that's the reason why Florida state in their head coach Mike Norvell call him normal. Oh, normal. I know vales still at his current job because they cannot afford to fire him Luke fickle probably I mean that was constant. He has 30 million dollar buyout It's at some point like we were spending I mean they were spending a fractional amount on NIL and so well if we're gonna Yeah, we're gonna keep and we got two years off to buy out drops Why don't we just spend half of that buy out on NIL? Yeah, right and see if he actually can coach against guys when the playing field is level Yeah That's interesting those because it's you're you're expected to win quickly Mm-hmm and win long-term yeah win quickly win long-term And but we can't fire you really because the money a lot of the time some of the times it's so I can say But it's like that's the that's interesting though that because he used to be like if it It would just fire you because a lot of coaches. I mean help one state by Brian Kelly
They had some pretty robust buyouts. I don't think anybody thought that you would have seen Um, James Franklin and Brian Kelly fired based upon their buyouts and Kelly was right after Edo Yeah, he got a hand for wild and like 25 27 million dollars or something. Yeah, they're still paying all three of them Kiffin and and they're paying kiffin right now. They're playing it paying obviously Kelly and and uh order on there was a Florida What a point. I think we're doing that thing. I think you're right catches. Yeah But I saw a number. I started to think it's it's a weird situation because yes When when now thank you Kurt Kurt's igniting but with the trans portal win right now win right now win right now don't rebuild But You also get to stick around for quite a while because of the buyouts and some of these cases I just that's a staggering number to me when I see that number of 270 million and I wonder Um By the way kudos to me. I said I wonder and so I'm curious so that I consciously did that Bob uh that If the university's not the thing glued gets together. They'll say you know we're not paying this many buy when we can't
Everybody says that. Yeah, we're not gonna put the buyouts in anymore than they do You know what yeah, you know what they do because they all want to win. Yeah, and to get the best coaches They're gonna require hefty buyouts steep buyouts on the other side and part of it is the university saying well If you leave we want to have a steep buyout of use so they have it on both sides And so no one really gets in this thing thinking it's going to fail They always think it's going to be very successful. At least the coach wants to protect their downside Sure if they get fired the university wants to protect They're upside from a standpoint of if the coach does so well that they're not able to leave without getting Commitation coming back And so that's why you get these buyouts structures the way they look and everybody can complain and cry about it But it's a free market enterprise to Adults or entities entering into agreement and agreement freely and that's what it is That's what the market is driven now people decide if we don't want to pay this as much anymore
And you just the people stop offering that That's fine, but Outside of like having some sort of collusive action Collusive action. I don't think that that's going to ever occur Was Tim back the guy used to be like cubie coach here. Yes, it was cubie coach. Okay. He got his buyout 1.7 million for him What was that Charlotte or was he Charlotte was he you and golf coast Okay, golf coast Florida golf coast. What's the what's the school in the coastal Carolina? Crystal Carolina. Yeah, the one in Mertle Beach with the weird nickname For sure. Yes, that one. What tells us Shanta clear. It's like a rooster or a chair. Yeah, something like that Boat of the fact you know that that rivals mine. Listen. I that ride was mine now since the double A football and my day to know that I was by knowing that Laramick Williams and Gene Garber stop Pete roses 44 game hitting streak in 1978 It's the mascot You're right. That's good. Yeah, you're right. That's just the picture of right now. I don't know if he's actually blue or The blue a blue chicken
Blue rooster. I don't know. There's your poll question. Are there blue roosters? Have you ever seen a blue rooster? Trent Dillford got three and a half million by the way and they negotiate it down He did not do well at UAB didn't he? No, he didn't. He was bad. He was nice. Good. Do you a B? Yeah, and I had to quite bad They said they settled for less than three and a half million and now he's back coach in high school again. Hey Not wrong with that. You know, they're fighting Irish though. You're successful. You know, they're fighting Irish higher to high school coach. They didn't didn't go very well. Go very well. Jerry Falser at all the success. It's since any molar But nonetheless then he had some success at Akron though. He did well at Akron coming up next In the game though, right? I think that was bad. That was um, Dan divine. Yeah, okay. Yeah, coming up next. Do some quick hit it Bobby's knees hurt from doing battle with some of football's toughest warriors Tito's knees hurt from begging Bobby to let him host this show. Oh, pick me. Oh, I know. Do you think, Brody? Morning juice presents All right, fellas. Happy Wednesday. We'll start here. Call it's basketball recruiting on Tuesday afternoon The BYU Cougars landed another five star prospect giving head coach Kevin Young his third consecutive recruiting class With at least one five star player. That's because Bruce branched the third five star Ford from Fort Lauderdale Floor. Yeah, let me say they get a good Lord Lauderdale Florida chose the Cougars over Southern California
Back in the 2024 recruiting cycle. They landed big man Igor Demon who would go on to be the eighth overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft. Of course now they got freshman Femont phenom AJ DeBanza who's a near lock to be at least the second And he could go number one overall in this summer's NBA draft and now branch will look to follow in their footsteps Is the next one and done out there in Provo he originally was the second best prospect in his class of 2027 but he's gonna reclassify most Rankings ESPN 24-7 sports among others has him as the six or seventh best prospect Still a top 10 guy and see it out just another sign here that BYU kind of maybe trying to be the Indiana of basketball You know Indiana coach football BYU minced basketball the NIL era times are a change in. It's amazing guy from Florida Who was the base between USC and BYU loves the mountains What is yes? The bands to say you might come back next year. Do you see that he said I don't think I like that I told I told the headline of the story was
BYU fans ecstatic about the fact he said that so yeah, he's not coming back. No, but nonetheless. It's kudos to BYU BYU hasn't been like last time they were really relevant basketball. Danny Angel's there Um, it's been a minute. It's been a hot minute for that. Why would you say that buddy the fact that he's Almost 70 years old probably the fact that I think he's probably Spent more time now as a general manager than he did it, you know, yeah playing the game is So yeah, it's uh, but you're right. It's gonna happen now you guys like this and BYU I uh Are you gonna get guys like this? I feel like the only way to get guys like this is by paying for him Well, that's what I'm saying, but they're willing to pay for it though They've got three straight class with five stories. I've always told me fed off if you're willing to pay for it Oh, yeah, if you're willing to pay for it. I mean, but you got to make sure first of all You know, you're not a cop are you gonna always ask like always ask you make sure you ask are you a cop? I think that's what I've seen on different movies Mm-hmm. Is that do you know bobby entrapment since you are a you're a much more learned man than I am
If I say to somebody are you a cop do they have to tell me if they're a cop I don't know. I've always believed that to be true, but I don't feel like that's an iron cloud I don't see that's what I mean. I think if you have to ask somebody if you're a cop before you're engaging in the contract with them Negotiation you might not want to be in that you might be in sticky situation. Yeah Maybe some sort of they're not a cop it could be no it could be you might be in some sort of a illicit situation That's what I wonder about. Yeah, so we need to get hopefully we have an attorney in the chat That can maybe steer me on that one that could that could actually save me some future Problems, but uh anyway, Bob getting back to the cells best you grant Tell him if you agree never wait. It's right. Yeah, you grant anyway, but that then you have to ask so are you a man or a woman? But now that's another whole gray area. We got to deal with now in the state of watch two and a half men Yes, yeah, I'm Charlie would go to the drug store to get something in the pharmacist for try to give him some You know some sort of prescription that he doesn't need right and Charlie would be like don't you have to be don't you have to like
You know sign something off to get me and Russell at the far the pharmacist would be like what are you a cop? Just every time There's like small jokes and a long running sitcom that never got old It's on that Bob. How do you feel about this sighting? No, pretty good about it. There we go. Listen Things are happening at BYU They're paying players and guys are getting kicked out of school for Doing illegal things. No, no, the guy who gets who okay the receiver did It's illegal Was he charged with something like sexual assault? I think I charged with something. I thought There's no one thinking of it. I think they're receiving. Yeah, there's two the receiver did Russell. I've got accused of that and then that was rescinded. Yeah. Oh, okay, but he was still kicked out of school Yeah, he didn't get into any trouble. That's why he played a two lane. Yeah, alleged to on the other one the receiver Yeah, because there's nothing been he's not been convicted But he was that was I didn't realize that was part of it. Yeah, yeah, that was part of the that's how it all that's how That's how it all came out, which is a terrible choice of words. Go ahead there both next up moving on
It's no secret that the big 10 and SEC are the top two dogs right now in college athletics There's both conference elevated themselves above the rest a few years ago when they added Texas and Oklahoma down there in the south And then the big 10 here in the Midwest tongue and cheek there as they added Southern California UCLA Oregon and Washington This is left the big 12 and ACC looking for ways to keep up with the Joneses and big 12 commissioner Brett your mark has a unique Unique idea that could give his league a way to do that Per John O Rand your mark has indicated that the big 12 will consider selling its football and basketball packages separately When it's current deal expires before the 31 season The article an awful announcing that I saw highlighted that the fact that the big east which is a non football conference is Making almost double if not more than double what the then what the big 12 and ACC are right now for just the big East's Big East's basketball rights there so and like a mention they don't even have college football so Carp I don't know that I would have ever thought about this But it makes a lot of sense especially for a big 12 conference day. It's pretty loaded in basketball right now
It makes sense for every conference today. Yeah, frankly. I'm you want to see how much basketball is worth And I try to tell people like okay. Well right now You're bidding on football rights is what it is if you're the big 12 you got pretty good basketball programs people tune in to watch him Horse loose things off see what they're worth that way you can You know hold hold everybody to task as far as what you are as a conference in each sport and there's no free riding going on And I'm curious to see Whiskers I am really curious to see what that would look like because it's never been done before So this makes a lot of sense. I think it'd break your more credits like look at the big east They're making this much they don't even have football which is the massive revenue driver Yeah, the big east Is earning 80 million annually from Fox and BC and Warner Bros discovery from Their basketball rights and that's embarrassing. I mentioned there. There's they have no football. So Bob embarrassing is in not enough or no, they get that much. Okay. That's what I would have thought So because I mean isn't the big 10 like set to get a hundred million between the two
I think yeah, that's per school. Oh, okay. Let's say you know for the whole conference for per school It's got to be the whole conference. I would guess so too This big final there. Yeah, I'm looking to know I get to see if I can find it. Yeah, Bob But this goes back to why like And I hate saying I agree with something Notre Dame's doing But I wish Ohio State would separate and do their own thing as far as football meteorites go all right So they've got and this is the whole deal with the white paper that you know they have this college They've got the cost saving college sports committee or whatever they put together um The pooling of meteorites that they're trying to get before congress and I don't know for Ohio State Like even in the big 10 they want that like why would they want to be go share now would that be the best thing for everybody? Maybe Being able to get a larger pie for everyone now If you can get a larger pie is fine, but how are we going to divide that pie? I think is is the issue
And this and Rick new highs will talk a lot about that on XM when I've been with him About how if they go collectively to all of the broadcast partners here's what we have to sell You can sell it at a larger rate When you have complete control of the market just like the NFL does right But then how are you going to divide that up afterwards? That's the thing that everybody's got to decide and I don't know that if for Ohio State you carry 36 varsity sports like why would we want to share that they're already sharing enough with the rest of the big 10 That's some pub and that's like so explain to me about five or a why they would do it because you Ohio State if they if they went to Notre Dame route and went Said we're an independent and football, but every sport we're going to be in the big 10 I don't think the big 10 would deny that would they if they went to the big 10 said vote on this will be your everywhere else except football With the big 10th with the collective of those other 17 schools fight at that hard Then you have to well you got to figure out who you're going to be playing in football then so that's part of it But there's things that are going to be in these future contracts where It's always the the pie has always been symmetrical right for everybody. I don't believe that that will probably be the case going forward
I am tired of Purdue and Northwestern and No offense Kurt Zaggedi Indiana And the Anna is going to be carrying their legs stand up, but sucking off the teeth of Ohio State I'm no problem Building the conference just go spend the money and go try to be good right Like Purdue still has never really tried to be good. This is like the baseball thing right like you know Baseball like the top luxury tack teams. Yeah, they paid money the bottom half of the bottom half the does the bottom five wherever don't spend it on players They pocket it isn't that the same thing going on here and that's the problem and to say pocket like they just don't They don't try to do anything else to raise money outside of that like all we just got the money from this and No go try to generate revenue other ways go try to raise money and do things put together a winning product If you do that then it'll be great And it's interesting with majorly baseball they've talked about now putting in the salary cap And I think it's gonna happen. It'll be interesting to see well We're gonna lose the season of baseball event. Well, that's fine. We're gonna talk about that summer about exactly It's gonna be tough. Who's gonna care about that in 1981 watch old games on YouTube in 1981 Bobby on the strike
There were they some independent some newspaper did something where they did like a while strike was I think it was a 72-day strike But they did simulated games like on Stratomatic or something and they would put the box scores in the paper There's a famous radio call of Marty Brenner and Joe Nuxhall calling a game between the 1976 reds and the 1927 Yankees totally fictitious though That's out there though, but I wonder yeah a season without baseball that that'd be tough I think for for shark and people Jack for baseball right now. I think they have a lot of momentum and not don't get me wrong And they're not gonna like overtake the NFL ever or anything like that at least not in the near future But last year's world series was awesome. Yeah, I think the pitch clock has brought a lot of people back Oh, yeah, like they have a lot of momentum going on a lot of things going on right now Like people know show hey my kids know who that is. Yeah, and so to have a strike right now would just be bad timing for them A little bit more college basketball here guys real quick in our last couple minutes coach K probably saved It's hey, he's been a villain for the you know for the most part for most people in the 40 plus years that he's been
Living for four years, which is crazy. Yeah, and Shire he hasn't got a national title yet But he's done a pretty good job done everything else. Yeah, coach K though kind of been a villain for not kind of He has been a villain for the 40 plus years that he was there coaching the Duke men's basketball program But I think he won some people over on this one safe to say on the field of 68 after dark podcast interesting name With just good men and coach K He said quote there are less teams capable right now than ever before There are many have not and it's not their fault I don't think you mess with something that is gold. It's gold as he called a potential expansion of the NCAA tournament Quote a big mistake in Tito I think every single person that you would ask outside of the people who are financially gonna benefit from it Including Charlie Baker the NCAA's president would completely agree with what coach K has to say I'll be honest. I don't care if they expand it It doesn't bother me either way like it's still gonna get watched. It's still gonna be a popular I know I don't really watch the first four games anyway
Yeah, I'll do it on Tuesday night That's usually like I'd like to shut it down a little bit You know Back up a little bit and kind of get rested for the rest of the week, but on Thursday that Bobby I I was trying to think of the wedding crashers line when When Vince Vaughn was there getting the breakfast. He said I'm gonna shut it down So that's my two days what I do Bob so I I don't start watch till at first Thursday anyway So I don't really watch the first four unless somehow miraculously Ohio State's involved in it Maybe this but maybe I'm a little crazy father Who's gonna blank in the head Um, I don't know the expansion of this the regular season Miami Ohio might go undefeated and people are saying they don't deserve to get into the tournament stupid As an out-large team should they not win their conference championship is there a way to make the regular season any more relevant Expand the tournament. Expand the tournament anymore. Yeah Why don't we just start the why don't we just take it a double elimination tournament and just started in February
Sure, that's a kind of thing. Well eliminate like the last eight games the regular season We'll do some double elimination bracket. I mean the bracket will be they'll look like Matt McConaughey and true detective as he'll have in the wall in there to make sure who's playing Who know what it looks like? I mean, yeah, it sounds you to have a joke. My goodness. It is ridiculous Coming next lots of NFL news yesterday. We will sift through that next Be your go-to sports addiction WBNS WBNS FM HD3 Columbus the fan three Ohio sports destination Attack and dominate you were locked into morning chews sponsored by Riverside Bank of Dublin. Here's Bobby and Tito Morning chews. Yo Houston Bodie with you. Thank you to the game Bob I I believe Love is the answer Getting the pulse of our listeners Finger on the pulse. Yes
Champing yourself as you're figuring on the pulse the common man just the every man I don't take my own pulse I mean, I know you put your fingers somewhere and you like feel for some time right? You put like the other like Like that what to do You don't like if I rain you hard enough You'll be able to probably feel your pulse in your net You'd be able to just sit there and like here it might not feel anything Eventually, I've never taken my own pulse. Have you taken your own pulse before? Yes without without like it when your digital watch is on I did get my new I'm getting my new watch this week and pumped ice So you're taking your own pulse right now? Yeah, I take it there. You can take it in your neck. What is not as accurate? What's the number you're listening for like what what number do you want? What's the number I'm listening for? Yeah, what's the number you want? Is it talking back to me? Right now and for this it's funny because my worked up could you work with me? Yeah, it'll hire me in the 70s right now, but like usually when I'm like just chillin It's in the 50s okay. Have you taken your own pulse before? I mean, I know how to I've never done it Yeah, and I don't know what number would be good
Okay, every time you should be in the 50s you work out and you're in pretty good shape. So okay As soon as you run lower is that yeah You want your resting pulse to be lower. Okay. He's every time like I go to the dentist They'll do the wrap around the arm take blood pressure. I'm so glad you said the arm So much better She always tell me the number. Yeah, that's good. I'm like, okay Do it rolling along. Okay, speaking of that About raised pulses Bob, I had a dream last night Okay, I can't wait to hear this. I want you to analyze it for me. Mm-hmm. You ever seen you ever seen ponds? I'm like Joseph you ever seen ponds stars I'm aware you're the dad actually the guy from ponds that are set like Four seats down from us at WrestleMania. Did he really? Yeah, okay He was coaching Tennessee baseball You have from ponds stars. Yes, like University of Tennessee. Yes, and your dream in your dream
Okay, I was just making sure that this wasn't like a bit. I made a comment To him in passing about wanting to pitch in a big league game As it just so happened That same day Tennessee was playing the reds in an exhibition game. All right, that's happened a lot And so he thought I could pitch And so he get he got me a Tennessee uniform. So I'll put you in the game. It's an exhibition. You can win there But there were four stadiums like all connected almost All playing exhibition games. I went to the first three stadiums the wrong ones And then got there and almost missed my chance to pitch and I realized I don't throw a curveball. I could throw it as we know mid 40s, right? Yeah change up if I throw me 40s across the middle They're gonna hammer it all day long But he kept taking me into by me snacks There's a lot of layers So like there's a concession area for the players
Underneath like down by the dugout area and I vividly remember him say here you want some of this Do you want this like no? I don't need anything. I'm gonna go pitch. No, I just take this take this and so I never actually got to pitch in the game, but I vividly made a lot of snacks. No, I had snacks set aside for me You might be in the wrong show But I had I had a Tennessee uniform on to pitch against the reds Analyze There's a lot there. I mean I I don't know if I could really get to that accurately. Right. I know it's like Joseph over here with the the Pharaoh trying to Analyze this, but I woke up though like in a in a cold sweat because I realized that like you Maybe that is the things that you love most in your life You've missed because you've always just been stuffed in your beak Bobby, I didn't get fat till I was in my 30s. I was a skinny guy before 30. So I'm trying to figure out what what I should tell you right there. That's congratulations. Thank you It took a decade plus for you to eat yourself in adulthood and to diabetes
Anyway The figure on the policy I was getting at I believe type of snacks are you eating dude? It was like there was it was weird like one bag was open like it was You still ate it. I ate none of it. I ate none of it Bob. Okay. You missed your bid you're I missed it because I was going to the wrong stadium. They were all attached all four like there was like a go one way and then you go to either Either go northwest Maybe part of this in your dream is the fact that you are just Instead of actually thinking through things of what stadium you went to you just started randomly going to all of them and maybe that's part of this is Better planning in your life and asking more intelligent questions would lead you to the right conclusion quicker than just Being haste haste and running around with your head come off. Okay. The finger on the pull like a chant. She had to clear thing Beheaded Bob just tidal back I believe our listeners Would like to know How your
End of the show talk you say with the email exchange did it end positively or negatively for you? There was no return email my no, it's okay. No, so you got nothing. That's okay. Yeah. I'm fine with that. I can Be go with it. I'm excited because my both my boys are gonna be playing at the same location and we're gonna chance to watch them both So I don't know if that was sheer happenstance coincidence right or maybe it was Maybe my email helped. I don't know but I at least get to watch both of my kids Coach one and watch together. It's something excited about that Um NFL news now because that's the other thing people want to talk about probably uh Kyler Murray Is he's gonna be released on the first day of the new league season league year or traded? Yep, he is the guessing. He's probably gonna get released. I'm guessing so too. It's contract I don't know if anyone would want to truly trade for that, but right I can't believe anybody would Uh Kyler Murray is the he's third all time in Cardinals passing yards
The story Cardinals franchise. Yes. Who's second? Kurt Warner. No. Kurt Warner is not second. I know Jim Hart's first Robbie Hart Jim Hart is first. I don't know that Jim Hart played there for a long time though. Your dad played against Jim Hart Um I did not look see was second. I saw who's first. Uh, it's not it's not well. Maybe it is Warner I know it's not because Palmer and yeah, I don't think he was there long enough No Palmer was like still fifth or sixth. Yeah, I bet it's Kurt Warner I'm gonna look this up over time. I mean Kurt Warner probably started there for four years and probably They're all time passing. Yeah, that's all time. The Cardinals have a little bit of a bear's feel to him about The right thing like no 4,000 yard passers and all that old years. Okay, uh, no You know, low max is second Bob. Wait, is he related to Bernie low max? He's not related to Bernie low back. Don't be sure about that. Jake plumber 4 Carson Palmer 5 Kurt Warner 6 Okay, Charlie Johnson Seven
Was that when they were in St. Louis? I don't yeah, it had to be because it was 1961. Hell, it might have been in Chicago Okay, is there who's their leading passer after 1980? It might be Kyler. Well low max started in 81 So okay, they were okay, so he's the number two guy Bernie low max's brother Could be do you know who Bernie low max is now have you ever heard of the movie weekend at Bernie's yes, that's Bernie That's his last night low max. I remember that and how I would why not don't ask me because How he walks around We used to do that and we call it the low max like our kids when they dance and they do that we call it the low max I guess that's actually a thing the low max is a thing. That's what AJ told me okay after I would do it and His daughter big Uncle Bob always knows to do that dance like it's the low max and then they've I got via TikTok all this stuff comes back to light
So there you go love the talk. Okay, so Bob Kyler Murray what's gonna happen is he'll sign with someone else if that once he gets released That teal-payment minimum cardinals cover the rest. I don't know about that You think it'll go well no matter what he's gonna make the same amount Yes So how much does he have guaranteed isn't like 36.5 or something like that isn't that the number Um, I'm not aware of his contract situation. I just know that he hasn't been good well true, but it's Is it an option though that's like a team Like the Browns should consider Sure, if you just think the best way um 36.8 million what he's guaranteed for in 2026 if you think the best way to uh Have a good quarterback is to just have a lot of quarterbacks then I would say yes I wouldn't have more faith in Kyler Murray than toa I
I think I think two have played better from the pocket Kyler gives you an element of Illusiveness, but I don't think either one of those guys have the answer I would say two has a better chance at being the answer Kyler would play better for you this year Bodie. I think I would take Kyler right now. I mean situation dependent too Yeah, like I I wonder and I don't know if he'd want to go there because I know the ESPN article said then League sources told them he has two preferred teams, but they didn't mention either So it's like okay, wow that two could turn into one or six pretty quickly, but like With like would Minnesota make sense? With just a great sense of Rogers has come back Uh, if he doesn't come back, I think yeah, if he comes back then no But like if you're Minnesota, I think you have to try to do something yeah to give JJ McCarthy some competition right now would Murray Want to go there and risk getting beaten out when he could probably give somewhere else and he has beat out by Jason This is a lot more. Yes, fair. Yes, but but I would want to go there and play for Kevin O'Connor rather than maybe go to
The Jets who are Cleveland or Cleveland. Yeah, I think yeah, I'd probably write a land on Minnesota in that case too I'm trying to come to the teams really Need need quarterbacks and the race going to draft Mendoza, but yeah, it's not a lie It's never as many as you think because there's always teams too that You know, like the Raiders or something that are gonna say like well, we're gonna draft a guy So we don't want to now gran at this quarterback class isn't particularly strong at the top But if you're gonna draft the guy number one overall then yeah, like you should play Yeah, you should expect to play him or whatever there. So it's like you're it's like Tyler Murray is gonna be bestowing any sage wisdom on Mendoza, it's like you're bringing the guy who's played who it who Compete and play early But also kind of mentor that guy along. Yeah, I mean Tyler Murray will have him go playing video Did we ever get is that really a true story? I think it is The people that I know in the NFL have told me it is and believe me. I've been around enough guys that
The story seems logical enough to be believable But they're guys that Why wouldn't you know me you ever see kids nowadays? Sit there and play video games all day and like abdicate all their responsibility in this world Why isn't that possible for an NFL player? Contrary to popular leaf Bobby. I don't let my kids Like I don't have I don't have anything above a ps2 and it's disconnected I've got a ps2 and Nintendo and a Sega Genesis. Okay, and so that that's one of the things that I I make sure my kid doesn't do a lot of that The video game play, which is why he likes going to friends houses so much That's fine. Yeah, he goes there. It's like oh, yeah, which can have a whole lot of stuff So we I'd go to friends houses and play yeah Bengals did not place the tag on Trey Hendrickson Siox did not place the tag on Kenneth Walker Super Bowl MVP So they are both going to be free agents Hendrickson not a surprise Walker maybe a little surprise only we've got some depth. They're running back in Seattle So maybe it's not I mean your running backs now at some point you want to get You want to get out of the running backs
Game before he gets too old. Yeah, you can give him a three-year deal. It's only going into his fourth year right Fifth fifth year. I think right here. I mean you could give him a three or four you a three-year deal that's Pretty robust for three years given the running back market And I think you're still going to probably get the best out of him at that point not be locked into something long-term And then the Hendrickson thing. I mean I thought surprising at all, but he's going to be Like I see a team like Detroit trying to snatch him up Because they just traded David Montgomery. So yeah, they're going to be in the market to bring in another guy to be able to Give some relief Um to goodness. Oh, no, Jimmy. I'm talking about Hendrickson. No, I'm not going to know Bringing him in all absolutely. That'd be a good fit for them. They're trying to find some opposite of Hutch Yes, and so do you draft a guy? Do you bring in a free agent depending on what Hendrickson his his number looks like That they could be in the market for him for sure. I mean if you're looking like a contender And I still think he wants to win. I mean, that's a place you could go and they're going to be trying to win
It's much different than Cincinnati. Yes, they're commitment to what they're trying to do. Yes, agreed Or you know, I could see Jerry Jones trying to throw money at him too. Couldn't you, buddy? Uh, yeah I would say so they could probably use an ad rusher. I think they probably will want to sign clowny who I know like has been in the league more than a decade now, but he played pretty well for Dallas last year And just a one-year stent there, but he only signs one year. She just comes in mercenary. Yeah But yeah, I mean Dallas can use help all over the defense outside of maybe defensive tackles So the cults put the transition tag on Daniel Jones Now Richardson's gonna be out the out of the picture So the thing with daily Jones Daniel Jones is they could match and offer that he gets. Yeah Daniel Jones transition tag is the average of the top 10 South The position and you I forget the conversation coming back. It's not nearest significant as the franchise tag But that's the difference and it's less Compensation of someone to sign them away, but you're also he's also getting less
So there's a greater risk than someone who get him, but I think that that's a smart move for Indy I don't know that anybody is going to go after him with the transition tag and you keep control of him So under the franchise tag it would have been about 40 almost 44 million On the transition tag it's about 38 million and Yes, the cults have the right to match any offer they get Now Daniel Jones looked very good last year for a stretch He looked good for a stretch in New York as well, but his bad has outweighed his good as far as look at the numbers He really hasn't been bad bad like that in Indy I think part of his bad bad New York was maybe it's a function of situation and scheme and who was around him He was eight and two To start the season got the Achilles injury in week 14, which then makes you wonder When will he even be available the upcoming season? Well, that's a big part of it I mean if he's available by week six. I would say that's a huge win. I mean, I know guys that have come back In eight to ten months. He plays quarterback now. He's an athletic quarterback. So he moves
So you're gonna want to have to obviously that athleticism um with them It stinks if you don't have it. That's a that's one of his weapons But he also isn't a guy that needs to go out there and run a four four like that's just the reality of it. So I think he is Threshold for returning is much lower I would say than maybe some of the other position groups And so he might be able to get back and be more functional for most of the season Yeah as opposed to like another position where you're having a hard time coming back to run I mean, it's you know the Achilles thing used to be career ending Like way back when it was like if you did that you were never the same again Well surgery is better and then also the rehabilitation process is that's where things have taken a huge step up In the different moment modalities and listen I mean if you got to go to Europe to get some blood spinning and some HGH and whatever else. I mean whatever takes The uh the colso are there. I guess I would say it's a it's a gamble right what they're doing because let's say It's one year
Let's say no one makes them off or you get them on the one year you get them on the uh um The 38 million dollars whatever and then after that you've got to make another decision on him But if he doesn't play for say half the season. Yeah, and he comes back like we saw what Aaron Rodgers what he went through now Aaron Rodgers is older but like for the first 10 games with the jets after he came back. We're not good Like you look at his numbers. It was after 10. He was significantly older though. Yes So how much does like how it's still it's a risk for the colso, right Well, what's the other option? That's exactly what I was Like they're kind of I think just stuck with it. We're there to prefer that he didn't tear as a kill is I think I think Daniel Jones gets behind him in line and says yes I also prefer that in terms of kill. Yes. They have him on a one-year deal If he doesn't play well next year while it's not there's gonna be teams lining up And so you could probably get him on another one year You don't even have to transition tag him if you like him and if not you bring in somebody else You draft somebody and there you go you move on and they don't have a first round pick this year
Even if they like love tie Simpson or something like that kind of option. I mean if you're in anapolis You're probably kind of saying either Daniel Jones or a Kyler Murray like Like while we've seen Jones at least have success here with our coach in our system Right. Yeah, I don't think anybody had coach or in the front office and anyapolis thinks that they're gonna go with a Super Bowl next year But they got a pretty good team and they they were playing really well Up until they kind of fell apart right around when he got hurt there at the end of the season and it's Sometimes teams you just try to make the best out of what you got and it's not always a great option Sure, but it's like it's it let's say Jones doesn't work out Let's say Jones comes back and is bad again. I rarely Leonard. So that's Yeah, Ryan Lennon is really anything rich than than Ryan Lennon is your next guy. Yeah, and But then like you're almost rebuilding again Probably What are you gonna build with this here? There's nothing out there. You don't have a first-round draft pick There's really not a whole again bringing calendar Murray
You know You already moved off from your first-round quarterback like he's on on the way out the door Who else is available Mac Jones? You don't have a ton of draft But Mac Jones Daniel Jones Was Mac Jones two years ago. Yeah, and you came in and had some success So why roll the dice with that and he's gonna be probably far more expensive and require a multi-year deal But this it's a one-off. So yeah, you might be in the same situation next year But maybe you're in a better situation. Okay, but if we can assume Safely the Daniel Jones is not available week one fair. That's probably fair. Yeah, not available week four Say Mrs. Amont. Okay. It's called a month Why not instead of saying Richardson go find a deal Why not try to work something? How are you keep Richardson for nothing? Why? No wait Let him okay, if you're not gonna have Jones is it what if you know what Richardson is? I think that's the thing Okay, but like okay Richardson. Why am I gonna? Wasted Leonard who gives you a better chance to win? Doesn't matter. I mean they play okay
My point that's my point though Bob, but you don't want somebody like that even in your locker room at this point If it's that bad then I get it if it is that bad if it if it's that if he's a cancer then yes No offense cancer if he's a cancer then yes, I get it get rid of him But if if he comes out if you if you know Daniel Jones is gonna miss four to six weeks of the regular season If Richardson come out comes out and plays well, you might be able to train him for something If you place poorly, you're still gonna he's still gonna play somewhere else after the fine well, man He has nothing that would lead you to He would have he has done nothing that would lead you to believe that he could play well at this point Uh coming up next we'll be joined by Austin Ward I'm sure we'll talk Ohio State football. That's next Sponsored by Riverside Bank of Dublin All right Now in addition to Bodi it's this guy A guy who considers himself the mayor of Laramie, Wyoming who holds the shuffleboard record at the ranger and most impressive
That can be sure of a central Ohio to man scrambling Here's Austin Ward Austin Ward joins us here now Austin vacation time's almost over spring football gets underway here very soon You could ask Ryan day one question right now. What would it be? When was vacation Tito Uh Yeah, I I'd like to know you know really more about the the process of hiring Arthur Smith We haven't had any of those Press conferences yet with Ryan day and you say well that seems like a silly way to go He's been in place for more than a month and a lot of the benefits seem obvious You know I think that's one of the more If not the most fascinating changes developments enhancements to the Ohio State program because You know, it's a created a new spot for it in terms of the way that College football coaches are and the stabs are structured
Um, you know, not a full-time recruiting role on the road um You know what led him to this particular Candidate in Arthur Smith what he expects This spring to look like with him what he's hoping to get out of his influence on the offense How How that puts him back in a position Ryan day to be the CEO of the book guys that he wants to be I think that there are a ton of Angles to pursue there with Arthur Smith and Getting back out there on the practice field on Tuesday. I'm really excited for it. I think this is a You know some camps you think about like two years ago Going into the first day of spring at the Woody Hayes Athletics Center. You knew There were no real jobs up for grabs. Uh, it had so many veterans back That's a good thing But that doesn't mean that it lends itself to a ton of Oh, football's back. I'm excited. We're gonna learn so much about the book guys this spring This is one of those where um, I think there's a bunch of subplots to follow a bunch of changes that we could see
A bunch of fresh faces that are going to be competing for jobs And and a lot of maybe you know, transition going on there on the defense side of the ball particularly But you know what what Arthur Smith's role will be Leading helping lead this offense coordinate the offense. I think is is going to be well worth watching Should be very exciting I'm I believe they're having like a little meat and mingle Austin coming up. I think tomorrow you get a chance to Talk to some of those guys maybe a little more cash dog setting um It's at a fun casual joint bomb. It really is it'd be at the the local roosters here So that's exciting for everybody Maybe get some wings and some different things some mac and cheese bites for berm Um, yeah How interested are you in the process of retaining mat patrisha and what that looked like Uh, yeah, I put it right up there With the Arthur Smith hiring, but it feels to me like there was
I don't know not quite as much Intriguerance uncertainty in that maybe that's an unfair character right characterization Bob, but Like I it feels like they were Contract negotiations that were not unusual for someone in map patrisha's um, you know role Given the level of interest that's in him at the Both college and the NFL level after Penn State came after him to try to hire him You know late in the in their process that dragged out To an interminable linked You know, I don't know for sure Bob that any of the Nine plus NFL teams that expressed a reached out with some level of interest in map patrisha if they ever Slid an actual contract offer across the mahogany table to him and said what do you think about that? Is that gonna work? Uh, and so I don't know if he got that piece of leverage to To use as part of the ongoing conversations with Ohio State and like I you know I've said to you before and I think you have a pretty good understanding of this as well that the Ohio State had
signaled Indicated going back all the way to October. We're ready to change this deal. We want to make you the highest paid Coordinator in college football maybe the highest paid that Ohio State has ever had I still have not seen the actual amount that that deal Settled on for map patrisha in Ohio State, but you know, I I'd said To both of you guys in the body like don't think anybody did anything wrong map patrisha was well within his rights to See what other offers were gonna be available to him um, you know Just in case somebody did something crazy like the Raiders did with Chip Kelly at this time a year ago Um, Ohio State to my knowledge was not low-balling map patrisha or backing off of its word about how it wanted to Uh Compensate him and reward him for the amazing job that he did in year one It wanted to keep him around as long as possible and make him as comfortable as possible to do that So you know, I I don't know You know see Matt on during the speed and greet later on in the week if
How that process played out If that's something that he really wants to talk about. I think all that Ultimately matters to him and to Ross Bjork and Ryan Day was that they got the job done And then he's sticking around because in the meantime over these last two months map patrisha was still Doing all the work to acquire talent through the transfer portal Uh, he had been working as a recruiter in year one uh pretty Passionately and enjoying that part of it And then now working with the the staff and continuing to I think evolved the scheme with James Lord Knightis and Tim Walton and Matt Carrier and Larry Johnson and and everybody else and that support staff on the defensive side of the football So I think it's probably Uh, he'd say that the end result is all that matters and the rest I don't need to worry about and I think that's probably totally fair Awesome if you could think back to one year ago at this time how you felt about the offensive line the prospects of the offensive line Versus how you feel now how would that differ? Uh, I thought
Well, I thought a year ago at this time that Ethan O'Neil was gonna be the starting left tackle for Ohio State I thought going into spring camp that Austin cerebelled was probably gonna slide out to right tackle Uh, although he could have won a job at guard and when I saw the moves that they made to bring in O'Neil and Philip Daniels to supplement that group while knowing that you still had Carson Hensman lukemont gumbry Austin cerebelled integrity Shabola coming back off of You know six successful year, but also a year of experience. I thought well That's got to be the deepest Most bird versatile offensive line that Ohio State has had in in my venn 14 years of covering the book guys They that did not mean that their ceiling was as high as some others, but a lot of Even if you think back to the 2014 National title team or some of those really good offensive lines under urban Meyer were the early ones Under Ryan Day They were one injury away from things going really sideways and they
They had a remarkable run of good health and they didn't have to test that We saw a different approach on the way to the national championship where they did have to dip into it and And Justin Fry was holding his breath every single game and really every single practice on the way Up to the Notre Dame matchup about all right We'd need to get 10 more reps here because I don't want to risk anything else with what's going on with guys that were playing through injury And they had no one else to turn to But anyway, that carried over into 2025 right thought Well, you're you have now these guys who've shown that they can do it in big games They have that uh, they have that confidence. They're going to continue to grow now. They had to shuffle it Pretty significantly from what I anticipated because Ethan O'Neill and what by the time you got to the end of spring camp was like Maybe he's not going to be someone you can rely on at tackle and he can't play guard and how is this going to look where don't You know, I I thought they exceeded what even what I would have expected out of spring camp with during the 12-0 regular season Tito
and I know that the last two games have shaded the perception in the negative direction For them, but I still feel that this is the deepest most vertical versatile offensive line that I've covered It'll have state moving into 2026 because even if you've removed Tegra Shabola from this equation You now know for sure what Austin Sareveld can do Luke Montgomery Carson Hensman Philip Daniels prove that he could be uh, uh A championship contending right tackle and now you're going to add in E and more of this equation who got a start and played in the second half against Miami and played well You've got Josh Padilla who was really threatening to take that right guard job in the start of November before he got injured You have some positive moments from Gabe Van Sickle Not necessarily in the first half against Miami, but you know, I think to to have given up or Completely thrown in the towel on this offensive line because of the inconsistency of the last two games
I think would be a disservice to everything they did in the 12 games before that and what they might look like By the end of April or by the start of September so I've still remained very confident in the so high-estate offensive line and to me I understand why they didn't go out and make any any splashy moves Uh to try and change that all those guys played at a high level and they're gonna be better in September. I strongly believe that What is the position group you are most interesting to see how this thing plays out or one area of this team once spring ball opens next week Yeah, I think that I don't want to be a broken record this offseason talking about the defensive line So I'm not gonna do that um and that's partly because why I'm very much interested in it What mapatrisha and Larry Johnson are gonna do Bob because I think we can see More variance and more variable fronts for Ohio State three four five down line minute different times and different
Uh deployments of the linebackers and two three or four of them in a time I I don't know if all of that's gonna be finalized throughout spring and maybe in the second rate won't either but When I when I was talking about this with uh berm on the the beat this morning is the position review preview for the safeties that's really the spot where The developed here and the recruit and and see guys through the process That position has not gone according to plan in the in this offseason And so you've got Jaylin McLean back And that's a huge starting point he was phenomenal last year in his first year Uh really is a full-timer in the lineup, but then you're you're you have to gamble a little bit when you go in the transfer portal I just talked about Ethan O'Neil and that didn't work out and everyone was very sure that it would Terry Moore if he is back to the level that he played at in 2024 for Duke All right, no problem or a little Uh playing in the nickel if he shows that same potential that had
Uh and production that he had at Alabama and then floored a state four Ohio State great no problem, but Nothing is ever certain Even the recruiting process same thing, but when you go in the transfer portal Uh, it can be a little bit dicey and Even if you're not a safety driven defense the way the gym knows always called it you have to have high level safety play If you're going to win a national championship where if you're going to be Remaining in the top Spot in the national college football defensive rankings and that's where you know map at Trisha has proven He can get and keep Ohio State That relies on high level safety play and Caleb Downs and learns of styles are not around to help with that Those are significant losses and so It's it's too fold a little bit What is what is Terry Moore really back to that 20 to 24 level or a little is he going to be comfortable in that nickel role Is there anybody else that you know could make a step forward there? Lee Roy Roker got involved in the dime package against Miami
So he got a taste of that experience and he was you know Based on that ahead of some of these other guys that Ohio State lost in the transfer portal that people were really excited about namely Blaine Bradford is on campus now. I think there's a ton of expectations from Mcarrary for what he might be able to do right away So you just immediately slot into a number two spot on the depth chart in the secondary I don't know, but that's what we're going to get to find out starting on Tuesday. So I am more Attuned to the safeties than I've needed to be in the last couple years because Caleb Downs made that really easy And you could kind of take that spot for granted in some ways that won't be the case As they go through March and April here in the woody he is Austin Ward one half of the beat The podcast you can catch on 10 TV plus where your podcasts listen like subscribe to all that Austin get you out here on this one Because we had a conversation yesterday about San Antonio homes wondering if he was conceived in San Antonio That's why they named him San Antonio Austin Ward were you conceived in Austin, Texas
Don't believe that I got or asked for those details from my parents. So that I don't think that's the case Okay, I believe that would be Tulsa Oklahoma, but I don't know where they took their vacations or what the details were when they were on the road my parents if they want Actually, I'll give them the ability for you to reach out and converse with them if you really need to know Tito I'm still good now My birthday was Saturday What happened nine months before that 43 years ago right that's that's their business and I hope it was a great time catch And he's one half of the beat Tulsa and berm thanks so much for the time. We appreciate bubble talk next week See yeah, that was Austin Ward joining us there coming up next. We're wrapped things up. Tell you it's guys juice Morning juice morning juice final segment of the program. Thank you to Austin Ward for joining us
We got a big show tomorrow Bob I mean look I'm glad you guys listen today, but tomorrow We got Albert Brear We got Adam Jardi We've got your highness Seriously Bobby That's a great show. That's a great line up there talk about the book. I win. Yeah, it's gotta be it I the show sheet the combine the show sheet. I put out there said For Adam Jardi's teeth. I started working on it said we we're in Adam Jardi next to talk about the buck. I win over Penn State Trying to talk into existence exists. It's now. Let's do what's got you juice What's got a new juice Sponsored by new man roofing for all your roofing gutter or siding needs call new man roofing today at six one four new roof Or visit online at newman roofing dot com the Wednesday Houston you go first Are you gonna stop that okay? I'll stop I go by a lot of different things and I don't mind stuff, but like you Manufacturing a name for me That's not gonna happen. It's kind of a funny story though. I'm not gonna say it. It's kind of funny story
It's my mom gets overextended in her Well, what she thinks her leverage in life is That's a phrase I've never heard before Over extended and what her leverage in life is yeah, okay the other way to save over playing your hand Okay, so Yeah, so what's got me juice today? I mean, I guess I'm finding out this weekend. I mean the Both of my boys will be playing basketball at the same location in In a pretty responsible time frame So I'm pretty excited about that getting a chance to watch all their games and see all that stuff and They're double inside of my daughter has a lacrosse scrimmage that's at Um We're thinking killborn. That's one of my wife. I don't know if there's two high schools that are closer together in separate districts Than double inside and more than a killborn like they're both on hard road like that's perfect You know victory lap on this right. Oh, I mean, that just happened to work out like that So that's a it's a nice deal excited for that. So it should be a fun weekend trying to figure out everything is going on With that they got spring ball starting next week and watching those guys finish up their mad drills and
Their offseason conditioning and programming Should be fun here for the rest of the week. I got it classes to teach today and um I wouldn't say overwhelmed, but My daughter had a lacrosse game last night and it was beautiful outside if you like 45 and rainy romantic that's fantastic. So sitting in that kind of sat my energy and got home Through hot shower fell a little better got some sleep But just a little tired today and I've got three classes to teach the first time I've ever taught three in a day So three to teach today Yeah Holy cow. Yep. So that's how it goes three three a day twice a week. So how long do the classes about 80 minutes So it's four. Yeah Yeah, it's called work First I don't don't know we're not gonna do that. No, I'm I'm just saying I'm walking around. I'm impressed Bob I've been doing it for seven years. I didn't know you did three classes a day. I did two for a long time We had won the first year, but I've been doing two the second year since then. So I was thinking was a one like a 42
Minute class, and that was it, but no, okay. This is real school. Okay. You didn't come here to play this I got you. You know came here to play radio came here to play radio. So I've got that going. That'll be fine I'll be relieved at 515 when it's over for the day and take a deep breath and Get a couple more classes next weekend before we get spring break, which is right on the horizon. So Juiced about all that and juiced about the Buckeye game tonight and hopefully they'll be getting a nice victory against Penn State and Zeroing in on Indian of this weekend as they come back to the shot to hopefully lock up a NCAA tournament birth. So we'll see how all that goes, but that always got me a juiced and in fact my boys likes His son hunter they Went to the blue jackets game last night, which was great taking care of our guy mr. Rick Nash who is the best So excited for that and the jacket's got to win, which was awesome I woke I checked that before I went to bed last night watched the beginning of it. I'm like Hopefully they pulled this thing out and didn't have to go to overtime and
You know almost P away a lead late in the game. Took care of business got the three to win. So like that. So that all has me juice But with that being said, what should I say to say fluff me up and my intellect. That's just what we need bunch of fluffers Like I said that just kind of really nonchalant. I didn't want to get to you sound that I really wanted to sink in Carp who is more ready for spring ball the players after going through when a workouts or shlakes his voice who needs a little bit of a break from the all for sure Shlakes his voice He is running on empty. That's what I figured out as we just today guys kind of short and sweet for me here I'm with you carpe a little bit. I'm kind of glad it's already Wednesday I don't have nearly as much going on after work after the show today as you do. I'm gonna go home and take a nap a little bit more awesome I'm really looking forward to it. I'm kind of I don't know if it's maybe the rain yesterday or just I don't know every day getting up at 3 a.m Kind of wears on you one way or another, but got a little mark Sanchez going on today. Just happy to be a lot of me go
Just happy to be alive knife little little worn down not knife could be could be in worse Condition, but yeah, you know six feet above is better than six feet under Tito So that's got me juice today just to be here. It's all I got for you I love you guys give me 11 minutes now to pontificate on what's got me juice well done by you guys Bob if only we knew that the segment was 17 minutes long right Bob I don't I don't normally do this But I did some investigative work Sure, okay, you criticized me. Yeah For I think you say yeah, like you know already you criticize me just wait no matter what I say after that Let's say term criticizes strong. I bring delight. Maybe try to enhance you. Yes, by showing your weaknesses Well Bring to light some deficiencies daughter had a sleepover on a school night. Yeah And you
Said that was probably not a good decision still advised okay, and you said probably high school Is about the time you might allow it to happen maybe After doing extensive I could probably count on one hand amount of times I stayed at somebody's house Before there was class like school the next day. I happen to know When a certain child was seven years old he had not won But multiple sleepovers on school nights Well my kids yes, who's that Caleb Well, maybe we're out of town nope, you were in town I'd like to hear then give me some colors surrounding this when you let already stay with you guys Oh, we went to Oregon he does a solid you were out of town. Yeah, we were out of town Yeah, but Caleb at a sleepover he didn't have a sleepover. We were watching your kid There's a difference no I said we were watching your son for you. I could have said no and put him outside. You're right. You could have said no
So that's not a sleepover No, because I said it constituted if someone I said if we were out of town or I guess the person that we were watching It was very we were we we appreciated it I got home yesterday and as I'll often I talked with about the show and About some of the things we talk about chill Caleb at a sleepover. I said no, he did then she Heather through that out there say you know what I'm reaht Bobby because technically it's a sleepover In the technical sense. Sure, okay, but I've referred to that as someone staying over someone else's high He didn't sleep over anywhere else. He had we had someone we had guests in our home. There you go And that was fine. Um, he did a good job. You guys did a great job. He loved being there. Yeah, because we have expectations You could just said you could just said thank you or yes, but you have to throw in the expectations and standards So Pinocchio going on No, it would cost a day carburetor Seems got me juice the jack it's your close-on
You're close-on going to school. Yes What's got me juice? Let's see that the jackets win last night certainly We've got this kind of like a three-day stretch here yesterday the first day of where we need Ohio teams to win Ohio State tonight. It's been state Ohio State women in the ends of the tour tomorrow the jackets We got the game with the panthers coming up with goalie Bob I noticed that we're in ski was out again last night Like to get some some news on that from ports line I don't know if this is something to extend even further But the jackets are remaining Right now three games out of that wild card spot, but Bobby. It's great for it to be You know March 4th And we've got jackets playing meaningful hockey Ohio State men playing meaningful basketball and Ohio State women You know still a a threat to host that I would think the first the first weekend of the women's NCAA tournament It makes a difference. Yeah, it's fun We're playing games of consequence. That's a big deal. Yeah So that's much more enjoyable than going out there and playing glorified exhibition games at the end of the season
I I'm glad she likes out the game last night. I got out to games soon too. I it's it's such a great atmosphere out there I love the way the jackets do it I know I probably bang that drum too too many times, but it's a it's certainly fun to go out there and and watch that team when they're and look They've got a great future ahead of them. I like the leadership. That's in charge now I like the fact that Nash your boy Nash is moving up the ranks as far as his his roles go I'm trying to title. Yeah, it's uh, no, I didn't I didn't look it up Is it assistant GM or assistant to the GM assistant to the GM? I don't know is he Dwight shrewt Because I don't I do not I don't put Dwight shoot true to the same category as Rick Nash Let's see what he is here um Elite Prosper I don't know I'm up to look what does he here we go. Let's see what they they can Director of hockey ops. There you go. Director of hockey ops. Okay promoted to director of element two years ago And then now he served as director of hockey ops since 2024. I wish I could like him. So that sounds pretty
Why don't you like him Because it's gonna be some sort of irrational reasoning. No, I think What I'm not saying Bobby is very rational and I think it's I think anybody out there with a rational mind would think this is rational Hmm. I'm excited to hear what it is then. I've known my wife for 20 years sure Mary just recently Bob we passed that 12-year mark congrats. Thank you very much. I appreciate that. I don't know just kidding No, it's 12 years consecutive anyway Out of all the pictures I've ever seen of her And I'm talking about High school pictures. I'm talking about wedding pictures Anniversary our trip to Oregon where you had to sleep over at your house for your seven-year-old son And like when we go on to Vegas and done things all these pictures. I've ever seen of my wife The biggest smile on her face I've ever seen is a picture she took with Rick Nash
Now frankly I take offense to that Why? Because he's Rick that's why I don't like Rick it Look how a hockey player loveman Columbus. I'm glad he's doing the great things he's doing But the fact that my wife smiled had a bigger smile on her face She met him at a hockey game. Let's just get that out of the way so it's not You know misconstrued as far as a different kind of picture But she is there with Rick Nash and that's the that's the biggest smile my wife has ever had Well instead of just being jealous and angry about it. Why don't you try to be Be a better husband. I tried to learn to escape didn't work out. I thought maybe that would you think that you think that's what was doing Well, it's first step Bob if I want to be Rick if I want to be the next Rick Nash. I don't know if that was the reason why Okay, I'm just saying though Bob. I that that part bothers me and that's why I can't fully embrace Rick Nash As a batter is that because he enjoys playing international competitions for his teams For his country, you know what no Bob because I told Rick his kids have to play for America too
All these Canadians to stay here winner. That's why all these Canadians to stay here I go you do realize and they married American women. I go your kid is half American and they live here. So I'll be damned if they're gonna go put on some So wait Leave Jersey. Second place. Second place. Leave Jersey. So play up there for the the great white north Okay, so like polino kids Nash kids you expect them if they're at that level to play for the US. Yeah, I do Do they agree with you or disagree? Well, we'll find out I'm just saying Bob. I don't like I mean their Canadians first. He is their kids aren't That's interesting. I wonder what do you play for Playful United States America That's right Their moms are American They're all married American women. Yeah, at least most of the guys I know. I mean, I'm not sure I think polino's wife is American. Yeah
Of course his wife is American Nash's wife Jess. She's American That's interesting Bob. I never thought about that These Canadian hockey players have come down here. They love Columbus. They all talk about Why they stay here they they retire here and all that Merry-girls from Ohio and then they stay here and it's great. So their kids can stay in play too Well, they be considered traders by Canada I'm not worried about them up there. They got plenty of Plenty of there to worry about yourself. Sure. Bones. That's amazing. I've got a cut for that one. Yes Nonetheless. Yes So also's got me juiced then is yeah, we got the basketball tournament stuff resolved Not terrible you worked out okay for you and your kids worked out okay for me and my kid We're worthy to Christian. We're close by there's worse. There's worse things. Yes, we don't have to go to Newark Like we were worried about yesterday. I think Newark was ever in the selection set someone I got some bad intel on that but I read off the locations to yesterday It's someone trying to write. Yeah, so it was someone's trying to write you up. I say Newark on that. No, it's it's fine You don't have a problem with Newark. I have a problem if one kid's playing in Newark and the other kids playing in Worthington
Right or it's still you're like why? I'm gonna miss my kids games on Saturday I got a radio show to do there you go So that's okay to probably better actually, you know, it could be addition by subtraction for my son if I'm not there on the side He'll put fake limping around like I have a knee brace putting on the show We got him a knee brace like a knee padding knee protection thing. What's over that? Okay, just he hits the ground a lot Bob Just a little extra protection that's all you might be indulging that I offered that suggestion up and it was shot down by my wife exactly because that's her job as a mom Your job is a dad to make him tougher. Her job is the love him That's how the role that's how you roles are easily sliced out Yeah, we've started this conversation weights two legs now.
