Mitie Sues Home Office Over MTC Contract

Kent, Western Jet Foil and Dover and the Mansden Processing Center for handling migrants crossing in small boats. Mighty Care and Custody, part of the Mighty Group, is hitting back with a high court lawsuit saying the decision stinks of conflict of interest. The beef centers on Dave Butler, MTC's head of development, who used to be Deputy Director at Mansden. Meti argues the Home Office didn't catch or fix this overlap, giving MTC an unfair edge. Mighty dropped their bid last September, got rejected in January, and fired off complaints that went nowhere. They claimed the Home Office made big errors, like picking a non-compliant MTC bid that skimped on staffing rules. In defense, the Home Office calls it all baseless, saying Butler faced a 12-month ban on commercial work after Mansden to block any insider perks, and he stayed out of procurement calls.
