Miracle Wedding Walk: Chester's Journey

0:00On March 6, a mum from Wigan, named Kim Waterworth, had the most emotional moment at her wedding when her three-year-old son Chester walked her down. The aisle. Doctors had diagnosed Chester with severe global developmental delay at age 2, and warned he might never walk. But just weeks before the big day on November 29, 2025, the determined little boy took his first steps and made his mums. Dreams come true. Chester was born on June 28, 2022, weighing only 5 pounds 12 ounces. He faced early feeding struggles, including a floppy larynx that needed surgery, and he stayed so underweight that he wore three to six-month clothes at his first birthday. Doctors eventually fitted him with a nasogaster tube to help him gain strength. Kim said she felt like a bubbling mess, seeing him walk her down, calling it a miracle that made the wedding extra special. With two other sons, she knew how far behind Chester was, and his progress filled the family with pride. Everyone at the event was deeply touched by the young boy's achievement.

Nursery manager Katie Unsworth, and teaching assistant Shelley Marston, stayed determined. Even sending Kim a video of his first steps in August 20, 25, they attended the wedding to support him too. Kim married her husband Matthew at Charnock Farm in Preston Lancashire, turning a tough journey into pure joy as Chester held her hand the whole way.
