The Minnesota wild just made a smart move at the trade deadline, picking up Ford Michael McCarran from the National Predators in exchange for their 2028 second round draft pick. Earlier this week, the wild claimed Robbie Favry off-wavors and earlier added defensemen Quinn Hughes to shore up their blue line. Now, with McCarran, they're beefing up that gritty fourth line for more physical play down the stretch. McCarran stands six feet six and weighs 232 pounds, bringing plenty of edge with five goals and seven assists in 59 games. This season, he leads Nashville and Penalty Minutes at a 1W2 and excels in face-offs at over 52%. This trade pairs him nicely with the wild's bottom-six group where young Daniele Yurov has struggled in the dot at under 39%, plus McCarran knows head coach John Hines from their time together
