Mingo, Top Guard, Chooses Baylor

0:00On April 27th, North Carolina made ways on April 6th by hiring former Nuggets coach Michael Malone as their new headman, but it cost them big time. With top 2026 recruit Dylan Mingo, decommitting just a week later. Fast forward two weeks, and the five-star combo guard from New York has landed at Baylor, committing to Scott Drew and the Bears. Mingo heads to Waco to team up with his older brother Caden, who just transferred in from Penn State after averaging 13.7 points, and 4.3 assists per game there. This six-foot-five talent ranks as the number eight player in the 2026 class, number three combo guard nationally, and New York's top prospect. Despite missing most of his senior year to injury, he balled out last summer with 19.3 points, nearly eight rebounds, and MVP honors at the NBA top 100 camp. For Drew, it's another coup, marking the Bears' highest rated commit since 2024, and keeping their streak alive with the five-star pledge.
