00Hey, this is Byard Winthrop, founder of American Giant. I started this company because I was fed up with cheap clothes that didn't last and a system that ship manufacturing overseas. We believed we could still make incredible hoodies, t-shirts and pants right here in the US, with American cotton, American factories, and people earning real wages. That's what American Giant stands for, building clothes that actually last, get 20% off your first order when you use promo code giant20 at American-giant.com. That's 20% off when you use code giant20 at American-giant.com. Hello, everybody. I'm John Falson with this great American show Midday Update for Tuesday, March 17th. Happy Tuesday, folks, and more importantly, happy greatest day of the year for us Irish folks. Happy St. Patrick's Day to all of those who celebrate. And even if you don't, today we're going to give you a permission to go out and have yourself a nice ice cold Guinness after work.
00You all work hard and you certainly deserve it. Now, let's get to some news of the day, why don't we? Kristi Nome has been referred to the Justice Department for a criminal investigation of alleged perjury tied to her claims that Donald Trump approved the $220 million ad campaign featuring her riding a horse. Top congressional Democrats referred the outgoing Homeland Security Secretary to the DOJ over quote, knowingly making false statements under oath to Congress. Nome testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee early this month that President Trump had known and approved the lavish ad. Days later, President Trump told reporters that he had not approved the commercial. Within 24 hours of Nome's testimony, she became the first cab in the casualty of Trump's second term. She and her rumored lover, Corey Lundowsky, accepted officially depart Homeland Security on March 31st. Now, people familiar with the case, the referral to the DOJ says it's a pretty weak case, but said the questions on the advertising contract would be the stickiest.
00So I guess we'll just have to wait and see. And it's the regular Democrat culprits who are going after her, Jamie Raskin and Senate Democrat whip Dick Durbin telling Pam Bondy, quote, we have low expectations that you will pursue this matter given your partisan weaponization of the Department of Justice. If they want to see weaponization, they should just go back and look at what Joseph Robinette Biden did the last four years. Now, the war with Iran continues to roll on, although President Trump says it's coming to an end, as I think he's seen enough between the poll numbers and the price of oil. And the issues that, quite frankly, we have here at home, President Trump speaking about it, saying as soon as this thing's over, oil prices are going to come down very, very quickly. Take a listen. When this is over, oil prices are going to go down very, very rapidly. So is inflation, so is everything else. But frankly, much more important than short-term, even long-term oil prices,
03you can't let the most violent, vicious country in the last 50 years have a nuclear weapon. Because the Middle East will be gone, Israel will go first without question, and they'll certainly take a shot at us before we get our act together and say we've got to take them out. You can't let Iran, who's truly a nation of great terror and power. Look what happened. In the last two weeks, they weren't supposed to go after all these other countries in the Middle East. Those missiles were set to go after them. And I think it's all best we trust President Trump when he says he's going to do something that he does it, so we'll have to wait and see. But I'm pretty confident gas prices will be coming down very, very shortly. Another day and another rogue judge doing what they do best, going rogue. Federal judges, we temporarily blocked health and human services secretary RFK
04juniors changes to childhood vaccine schedules. US District Judge Brian Murphy, who was a Biden appointee, issued a preliminary injunction and invalidated RFK's junior key vaccine advisory panel after he replaced all 17 people who previously made vaccine recommendations. Judges Murphy's order comes in response to a lawsuit filed by the American Academy of Pediatrics and several other groups. So a Biden judge looking to intervene with maha making America healthy again giving our kids 10, 15. However many vaccines they want to, like a federal judge knows what the heck they're talking about when it comes to vaccinating our children. Folks, this is exactly what we've been witnessing all throughout Trump's first administration. And now a second administration with these rogue judges doing all they can to try to stifle his administration. It's a damn damn shame. Woke New York City spent approximately $81,000 for personalized year on services for homeless people.
11This leads to some obvious questions. Why are there still homeless people in New York City? How does a city spend this kind of money and still have a homeless problem? Also, would it not be better just to give 81,000 to each homeless person on the condition that they just get the heck off the streets? Couldn't that have worked better at the end of the day? That's right. New York City 81,000 per person on homeless services last year amounting to a whopping 368 million dollars in total bills according to a new state report spending on the city's homeless service shelters, street homeless solutions more than tripled over the last six years from 102 million in 2019 or about 28,000 per unsheltered homeless person according to this report. This cost per person is roughly equivalent to the city's median household income as of the 2024 census at $81,228. That's what happens in liberal New York City folks and they get federal tax dollars too. So make
12sure you're calling your members of Congress and your members of Senate and letting them know you don't want another dollar going to New York City.
