Mets' Senga, Manaea, McLean: Spring Training Updates

Met's manager Carlos Mendoza shared key spring training updates before Thursday's match-up with the Washington Nationals. Veteran starters Sean Manea and Cody Senga are sets to make their grapefruit lead debuts over the next two days. Manea takes the mound Friday against the Miami Marlins, while Senga follows on Saturday versus the St. Louis Cardinals. Senga has been impressing early in camp. He's thrown live batting practice as recently as Sunday, along with several bullpen sessions. Mendoza called him the healthiest he's looked, with Velocity sitting in the mid-90s, and no issue so far. Manea spent the off season tweaking his mechanics after his arm slot dropped too low last season. He bounced back strong on the second half of 2024, but dealt with an oblique strain and elbow problems. The Met's hope he returns to that dominant form this year. Meanwhile, right-hander Nolan McLean is clear to join Team USA for the World Baseball Classic.
