Mets Dominate Astros, Senga Shines

Kodai Senga delivered four strong, scoreless innings on the mound while Luis Robert Jr. and Marcus Semyon sparked the offense. That victory improves the Mets to 12 wins and 9 losses in Great Fruit League play with just one week until opening day. Senga showed real grit despite some early traffic on the bases. He stranded runners in tough spots like a double play and strikeouts in the second inning. He gave up three hits and one walk, fan four and through 63 pitches. Most exciting, he touched 97 miles per hour and has hit 99 this spring with seven straight scoreless innings overall. The offense clicked with the full starting lineup in place. They scratched out a run in the second on a Robert Jr. double and Semyon sacrifice fly.

Then the fifth exploded for four runs, highlighted by Robert Jr.'s two run double and another Semyon sack fly, building a five-nothing lead. Francisco Lindor looked sharp in his third spring game, handling seven innings as shortstop cleanly despite going hitless. Sandouts included Boba Shet with two hits and two runs plus Robert Jr. driving in two.
