Meta Engineer Arrested for Stealing Facebook Photos

0:00On April 7th, a former meta-engineer in London got busted for allegedly downloading 30,000 private Facebook photos from users. Cops with the Metropolitan Police suspect he built a sneaky program to dodge the site's security and snag those picks without permission. Metacot win of this over a year back fired the guy on the spot and tipped off law enforcement right away. They even looped in the FBI, which led to his arrest last November 2025 on charges of unauthorized computer access. He's in his 30s, got released on bail, and has to check in with police next month in May. Meanwhile, meta reached out to all affected users and beefed up their security to prevent repeats.
