The defending MLS Cup champions came back from two goals down to beat rivals Orlando City 4-2. Lionel Messi starred with two goals in the match on Sunday night. After a tough opening loss to L.A.F.C., Messi bounced back strong. He scored his first two goals of the 2026 season and set up the game winner for Tulasco Segovia. It was Messi's first time facing Orlando with Miami. Coach Javier Mascherano had high praise for his star player. He called Messi the best ever and a true leader whose energy fires up the whole team. Maskerano said the second half come back showed real heart and why they won it all last year. Segovia had a standout night too with a goal and two assists.
