On April 5th, Melissa Gilbert broke her silence to defend her husband, actor Timothy Bussfield, after New Mexico prosecutors hit him with child sexual abuse charges back in early February. The 68-year-old Emmy winner, married to the former Little House on the Prairie Star, since 2013, faces accusations of, inappropriately touching young boys on the set of the TV show, The Cleaning Lady. The alleged incidents happened between November 2022 and spring 2024, including one boy at age seven and his twin at age, eight, both over their clothing. Bussfield pleaded not guilty and called the claims, straight up lies in a video to TMZ. Gilbert told Good Morning America, it's wrecked their whole world, their dreams, projects, everything's gone. She said he'd face worse than prison from her if he ever heard a kid, and even if cleared, he's canceled for life. This is their deepest trauma yet. Prosecutors highlighted a pattern from his past, like groping a 16-year-old girl at his
theater, settling a claim from a 17-year-old extra. On Little Big League, for $150,000 in costs, and another fondling report that went nowhere legally, Bussfield's out of custody waiting for trial in May 2027. Gilbert finally spoke because, as she put it, it's time, echoing her earlier support while the case plays out.
