Meals on Wheels needs your help a conversation with Betty Bradley
About this episode
Betty Bradley has been the Executive Director for Meals on Wheels since July 1st, 1975. As Meals on Wheels prepare to celebrate their 50th Anniversary they are facing some financial challenges.
Betty and her Board of Directors have been good stewards for many years. However the budget cuts that are going into effect could take away 1.9 million dollars or about half of their budget.
If this happens it will take food out of the mouths of the most vulnerable people in our community. It is also a life saver from another standpoint. Those volunteers have found many sick or injured clients that they were able to get help for.
Our own Congressman Jody Arrington, is Chairman of the House Budget Committee that's doing the cutting. A call to him could possibly help. Here is the email contact [email protected]
