McNamara Wants Syracuse Back at MSG

0:00On April 28th, Syracuse Basketball's new head coach, Jerry McNamara, once the orange to hit Madison Square Garden almost every year. The guy who led them to Big E's titles there back in 2005 and 2006 just took over last month. He's already hinting that next season's 13-game non-conference slate for 2026-27 might include a trip to the world's most famous arena. Earlier this week on a podcast with CBS Sports, McNamara straight up said he loves the place and can't help wanting to play there. Syracuse hasn't been back since December 2021 when they failed to Villanova 67-53. Even though they're in the ACC now, that Big E's vibe still lingers. Fans and alumni in the New York area would eat this up and it's huge for recruiting in that key market. McNamara turned around Sienna the last two seasons, so he's got the credit to make bold moves like this. On the schedule front, they've locked in Indiana and Indianapolis in Providence at TD Garden in Boston.
