McCray Honored, Seminoles Ready for ACC Tournament

0:00On March 9th Florida State Men's basketball got a big boost this week when the ACC announced its all-conference teams. Robert McCray the fifth became the Seminole's lone honoree, landing on the third team with 90 votes. The Jacksonville transfer has been central to the team's turnaround this season. Florida State improved from a rough 7 wins and 11 losses overall and 0 and 5 in conference play to a 17 and 14 record with 10 and 8 in the ACC. That earned them the number 8 seed and a buy in the tournament. McCray averaged 15.6 points, 6.1 assists, 3.8 rebounds, plus deals and blocks each game. His 188 total assists ranked third among conference point guards. Head coach Luke Lux called it a huge honor praising McCray's leadership on and off the court. That trust helped the whole program gel and improve. Lux himself picked up four votes to finish fourth in ACC coach of the year, balloting, behind Duke's John Shire.

1:00Now the Seminole's gear up for the ACC tournament in Charlotte, North Carolina. They face number 9 seed, California, on Wednesday, March 11th with tip off at 7pm at the Spectrum Center. With McCray leading the charge, Florida State hopes to build on their momentum and make a deep run through the bracket.
