0:00Hey guys, I'm Kira, and today you'll learn how to pronounce the phrase Moja the Buit, or maybe. Let's say the first syllable with good Russian default mouth position, just slightly forward, tip of the tongue behind the bottom teeth, lips rounded and protruded. Mo. Mo. In English, the letter O closes to an O sound. O. O. But Russian does the opposite. It opens either from an O to an A sound, or from an O to an O sound. O. O. The first syllable in our phrase is short, and you don't hear too much opening, but listen to what happens if I close the O like someone from the US would. Moja, completely not Russian. So make sure to do a little opening if you want to sound Russian. Moja is pronounced with the tip of the tongue curved upward, but with the rest of the tongue low, making lots of space in the mouth.
1:02Moja. Moja. The Y actually sounds like an E-flavored schwa, and the T sounds like a D in this phrase. To learn how to pronounce E, we first start with a real Russian O, just slightly forward, tip of the tongue behind the bottom teeth, lips rounded and protruded. O. O. O. Then we relax only the lips, leaving the tongue where it was. O. O. O. O. O. Let's do the second syllable, draw, tongue, lips. Żyd. Żyd. Finally, for the last syllable, use more air for the T, than you would in English, keeping the part of your tongue behind the tip close to the roof of your mouth. T. T. T. Let's do the last syllable. Żyd, tongue, lips. Żyd.
