Matthews' Season Ended, Leafs' Unity Questioned

With the NHL today, March 14th, Toronto Maple Leaf star Austin Matthews will miss the

rest of his season after suffering a grade 3 MCL tear and a quad contusion.

The injury happened on March 12th during a game against the Anaheim Ducks when Ducks

Captain Radco Gouda's delivered a knee on knee hit.

Gouda spaced a lead carrying over the phone the next day and received a 5 game suspension,

the maximum for that type of review.

He's poured in quickly with Matthews agent blasting the decision as way too lenient

and a failure for player safety.

On the ice, no lease players immediately came to Matthews's defense, prompting hockey
