The Meta Nuskas is sitting a burl assembly voted 6-1 this week to override a mayoral veto and partner with a private company on finding developers. For a data center or high tech facility on public land. Earlier this month, the assembly first approved the plan in a 5-2 vote. Assemblymember Dmitry Fonov requested the override after mayor Edna Derees vetoed it. The mayor worried about risks from working with an unbedded company that might represent the burl to outsiders. She wanted more review of the properties first. The two-year deal lets terror energy center corp. Use burl staff to scout interested companies for sites near poor McKinsey, big lake or the west. Susitna access road, it commits no land sales or leases. Supporters see it as a way to attract energy users and cut power costs for residents.
