Fire crews hit the scene in minutes, jumping straight into a tough fight against the blaze. Incident commander Carl Gibbons arrived about half an hour later and found his team already on point with water lines set and nearby areas evacuated. The fire likely started outside, before ripping into the building, loaded with rubber materials that fueled those dark plumes for hours. Hundreds of workers got safely pulled from neighboring spots, including a big warehouse at risk from nearby chemicals and oil drums. No one was trapped inside the factory, but the heat threatened everything around it, putting real pressure on the response. At peak, 11 fire engines rolled in with over 50 firefighters, plus ladders and high-reach gear to blast water from above.
