Fire crews from Nottinghamshire say most of the blaze is out, but deep-seated hotspots buried in piles of waste are still smoldering, making it tough. To call when it'll be fully done, at its peak, 13 fire engines rolled in from Derbyshire, Lestershire, and Nottinghamshire to tackle buildings, timber stacks and trailers, engulfed in flanks. Now, they're using heavy specialist machinery to shift the debris and hit those hidden spots directly. Local folks have dealt with lingering smoke, though it's mostly minimal now, and depends on wind and ops. The UK Health Security Agency rates the health risk as low, but they're urging everyone nearby to dodge any plumes, keep windows shut and doors, closed just in case. Crews are sticking around for several more days because of the site's complexity, especially with a railway line right next door that they're watching.
