The push came from the parents of 13-year-old Martha Mills, who died from sepsis at a London hospital in 2021 after her. Families warnings went unheard. A coroner later ruled she likely would have survived with quicker transfer to intensive care and better treatment. Martha's mom, Mara P. Mills, shared on BBC Radio that one nurse seemed anxious but couldn't speak up in the rigid hospital setup. She believes that nurse would have died to help wine first if it existed back then. The impact is clear. Out of nearly 1,800 staff calls by February, over 1,000 spotted serious patient declines. More than 500 folks got moved to intensive care, sparking vital treatment changes.
