2:04Thanks. How are you? Carrying on, you know, my head bad as good as I can be, given all the horrible, awful things going on. What you're going to my voice when I said I was doing well. And we are going to get into some of those horrible and no good things right about now. President Trump has reported a significant military progress in the 11-day war against Iran that he continues to offer conflicting signals regarding whether the conflict is nearing its end or requires further action to achieve ultimate victory. The military has already struck over 5,000 targets with Trump warning of even more severe retaliation if Iran attempts to disrupt global oil supplies or block the strait of hormones. Meanwhile, the conflict is widened as Israel targets Hezbollah's financial infrastructure in Lebanon and Iran launches drone attacks against neighboring Gulf nations. Despite rising casualties in the appointment of a new Supreme Leader, Iran's revolutionary guard maintains that they rather than the US will determine

3:07when the fighting concludes. Yeah, I mean, in a phone call with CBS, Trump said the war was almost over. Then he said that there's more to do to achieve ultimate victory. So I don't think he really knows what he's going to do. So it's hard for us to predict what he's going to do. Markets are apparently betting that the conflict is going to end soon or rather them later for whatever that's worth. But yeah, I mean, it's pretty hard to make any kind of predictions about where this is going to go because I firmly believe even Trump does not know what he's going to do. I mean, I think the skyrocketing oil prices is honestly his key concern over everything, which tells you all you need to know about our president. But you know, it's obviously not going to end overnight, but whether it's a week, a month, days, hard to say at this point. What did they say on this? And I'll cold open from over the weekend. How is Iran going to know what we're doing

4:09if we don't know what we're doing? And I feel like that kind of perfectly summarizes what's going on. Are we ending the war? We don't know. So they don't know. No one knows. I'll believe it when I see it. It's kind of how I'm feeling. I'm hoping it's just another one of these like, oh, we were in a war for like two minutes. And then now we're not. And I think everyone kind of hopes that that's how this goes. But it's interesting that you should mention oil because that is kind of the only thing that matters in this conflict. And I will say that that is a spoiler alert for our next story after a phone call with Vladimir Putin. Donald Trump said the US may temporarily lift some oil sanctions to ease global shortages caused by the war and pulving Iran and disruptions with the Strait of Hormuz, which pushed oil prices above $100 per barrel. Russia's signal that could supply more energy to Europe during the crisis while Vladimir Zelensky said Ukraine

5:09had helped defend US bases in Jordan and remains open to new peace talks with Russia. Meanwhile, fighting continues in Ukraine with Russian drones and shelling attacks causing injuries and disputes persist. Yes, as this story is very much related to our last story, oil, main focus of this conflict. And basically all of the other conflicts that the US has gotten into, Trump doing his whole like we had a beautiful phone call kind of like running down the highlights of of those usual Trump reports saying everything went well with Putin and they had a great call and it was very business like and I will note that he did say though however on the call that the Russia you created conflict isn't ongoing and never ending fight. So it doesn't really seem like he's too interested at this moment and getting involved in any peace talks to wrap that up. But you know, tomorrow is a new day.

6:10So that's kind of the summary on both of these stories. Tomorrow is a new day and we'll see what tomorrow brings. Marjorie Taylor Greene's resignation from Georgia's 14th Congressional District has triggered a special election following her public fault with President Trump over the release of the Epstein files. Trump has lent his complete and total endorsement to Republican Clay Fuller, but the race remains highly competitive with 17 candidates, including the Defiant State Senator Colton Moore. Local voters are currently divided between laws through the President's chosen successor and a desire for either a more professional representative or one who maintains a Greens combative anti-establishment style. Although the district is a traditional Republican stronghold, Democratic challenger Sean Harris is hoping the fractured GOP field and voter frustration over Greens departure could lead to an upset victory. I don't know about that part, but obviously this is kind of an interesting moment for this special election to take place because

7:12President Trump certainly not the most popular figure in America right now, so I'm not sure how much that endorsement is going to help. With the primaries recently, it seemed that his chosen candidate did succeed, but I believe that was before the Iran war. I honestly can't remember at this point, but regardless, I feel like his endorsement maybe isn't as worth as much as it once was. With 17 candidates, certainly there's going to be some fragmentation of the vote hard to really say at this point who is going to come out on top, but with everything that happened, I honestly forgot that Marjorie Taylor Greene resigned and wasn't in Congress. I don't know about you, Minna, but I saw that Archon was like, oh yeah, she's not in Congress anymore. I forgot. It's easy to forget. Actually, what's kind of interesting that this story when we think about

8:12is how, I mean, you can tell Trump is unpopular from polling and like lots of other things, but also that the number of congressional members not seeking re-election is the highest level that it's been in three decades, or excuse me, yeah, three decades. So I thought that was kind of interesting. Over 60 members are leaving. So that's kind of another way that you can see that Trump is unpopular, is that everyone is quitting Congress and being like, yeah, I don't think I want to be part of this anymore. So it's definitely going to make the midterm elections interesting if nothing else. Speaking of Congress, Senate Democrats led by Cory Booker are threatening to disrupt normal Senate business unless officials such as Marco Rubio and Pete Hegseth testify under oath about the U.S. military conflict with Iran. They want public hearings to address the war's cost, duration, civilian casualties, and overall strategy. Arguing that Congress has not properly debated the conflict. Using powers from the War Powers Act of 1973, Democrats planned to

9:19repeatedly force Senate votes and debates on resolutions aimed at halting U.S. military involvement. Yeah, they're basically ready to shut down the Senate over this conflict, and you know what? I say do it. I think it's time Congress wielded some of their power instead of just folding to whatever the president wants and his administration wants. So you know what? Do it. I'd love to see Marco Rubio and Pete Hegseth do a public hearing and testify under oath and try to give us some answers. I would love to see them fail. And um, yeah, I think this is good. Do it. Do it, Cory Booker. Yeah, and you'll notice whose name is absent from this article, which is of course the who was supposed to actually be leading Democrats in the Senate, which is Chuck Schumer, um, which is not at all surprising because he's not a leader and he needs to go. Uh, he clearly does not know how to lead in this moment. And the fact that other Democrats

10:22are having to step up and actually lead both in the House and in the Senate, uh, tells you kind of all you need to know about the current democratic leadership and why they need to be gone. But glass half full version of that is there are leaders and they are leading. There are. I just wish they were the Dejure leaders of the Democrats rather than the de facto leaders. And that is, um, no, but yeah, I mean, I, I hope it, I hope they do this wrap normals Senate business because these are not normal times. So I don't know why we should be continuing as normal. Well, to wrap things up to kind of keep going on a story we've covered multiple times right here on the DSR daily. And theropic has filed lawsuits against the Trump administration after being designated as national security supply chain risk. I move triggered by the company's refusal to allow its AI to be used for surveillance or autonomous weaponry. The company alleges that this designation is a pretextual form of retaliation that violates

11:24its first and fifth amendment rights as well as the legal scope of supply chain statutes. In response, the White House has defended the action, asserting that woke tech companies will not be permitted to jeopardize national security or dictate how the military operates. This legal battle falls a series of public clashes between CEO Dario Amade and defense secretary Pete Hegseth, culminating in the presidential directive to purge and theropic technology from federal agencies. Yeah, I mean, this is obviously a political, um, maneuver. It was pretty clear the entire time, uh, as soon as they announced that they were going to be designated supply chain risk that it was purely out of spite and retribution for not removing certain safety procedures from, uh, from their AI models, from military use, um, which, you know, impressive that anthropic has stood firm on this this whole time when so many other companies are bending the need of Trump and this administration. So CEO Dario Amade, the company should be applauded

12:30good to see that they are still standing strong because as soon as their deal ended, um, open AI immediately swooped and said, well, you know, we'll remove our safety, safety guidelines for you, Pentagon, um, and, you know, it kind of shows where their morals lie um, as opposed to anthropic. So good job, anthropic, a positive story to end on. I love how just doing the right thing makes you a woke tech company. Yeah, you won't let us use your models to like, and it's currently blow up people, sell your woke. Um, I guess, I guess you can call me woke too. And if that's the definition, I guess I'm woke also.
