Manaea Shines in Spring Debut, Mets Pitching Takes Shape

He delivered three strong innings, giving up just one hit, one earned run, one walk, and one strikeout. The Met's offense though, couldn't get much going against the Marlins pitchers. Craig Campbell followed with a perfect inning, fanning two batters. Devin Williams worked one frame, issuing one walk but striking out another. AJ Ewing stood out on offense, going one for three with a stolen base and a highlight diving catch and left field. Carson Benj added a single in four at bats. These outings give the Met's pitching staff a solid tune up as they bill toward the regular season. No final score was a highlight, but the arms showed promise. Looking ahead, Cody Senga takes the mound for his first spring start against the Cardinals in Jupiter, Florida. First pitch is at 105 p.m.
