Manaea's Return: Mets' Rotation Hope

Sean Manay has been itching to get back in the Met's rotation after a stint in the bullpen, and last night manager Carlos Mendoza gave him that chance to stretch his arm. The lefty threw three and two-thirds innings, fired 74 pitches, and allowed just one run in a tough spot. It all kicked off when starter David Peterson struggled early, down 5-2 against the Giants. Manayah stepped in, gave up a homer to Rafael Devers, and navigated a base-as-loaded jam. But he battled through to save the bullpen. Mendoza called it a positive step, praising Manayah's aggressive fastball and swings and misses. The pitcher stayed team first, saying he's ready to help however needed with their strong starters already in place. No firm commitment to the rotation yet, but Peterson's rough outing keeps the door open, especially with whispers of a six-man setup. The GM, David Stern stuck with the back-end arms, but results have been mixed so far.
