Man Shot Dead, Suspect Arrested in Meadows

0:00On March 3rd, detectives in the Meadows area are digging deeper into a fatal shooting after getting extra time to question the suspect. Emergency crews rushed to a home on Ryland Gardens just after 5.30 a.m. on Saturday, the 28th of February. A 24-year-old man had been shot and died soon after paramedics tried to help him. Officers found a shotgun right at the scene and kicked off a murder probe that same day. They arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of murder, later adding charges for possessing the shotgun, assaulting an emergency worker, and a public order offense. Police offered sympathies to the victim's family who are getting support from trained officers. This seems like an isolated case with no broader threat to locals. Extra questioning time was approved yesterday afternoon, the 1st of March, and the suspect is still in custody.
