Anchorage stories making news on March 2nd. A 32-year-old man from Anchorage named Ashan Street just got hit with an 88-year prison sentence for murder and attempted murder. The crimes happened during two shootings on the night of September 28th to 29th in 2018. Earlier this week, the judge handed down the ruling after a three-week trial in April 2025 where the jury found street guilty on all. Counts. The first shooting was outside a food truck, where street wounded a stranger who survived thanks to quick help from bystanders and surgery. Less than two hours later, he went to a mountain view apartment complex, got into a talk on a balcony, and fatally shot 24-year-old Fave, say out from a nearby unit before running off. Street got caught a week later in Fairview after crashing his car into police vehicles during a chase. Judge Greg Miller gave him 75 years for the murder, with 15 suspended, then added consecutive time for the attempted murder and weapons, charges,
