Man Sentenced for XL Bully Dog Attack

On March 31st, a 41-year-old man named Ashley Warren just got hit with a 10-year prison sentence for owning one of two ex-ell bully dogs that

killed 68-year-old Esther Martin in her J. Wick home back in Essex. This marched the first fatal mulling by the breed since the van kicked in on February 1st, 2024, with the attack happening just two days, later on February 3rd.

Warren left Martin alone with his dog bear, her dog beauty, and eight puppies while he headed to London to shoot a music video. Despite her mobility problems and zero experience handling those powerful dogs, he still asked her to watch them, setting the stage for disaster.

The court heard how Martin, only five foot three, suffered dozens of brutal injuries, including a bite that shattered her arm bone.

Prosecutors called it a tragedy waiting to happen, given the massive size mismatch between her and those banned beasts.

Warren was convicted as the owner of bear for the deadly attack in a private place, but cleared on charges tied to beauty since it belonged to his.

Girlfriend, he also coped three extra months for carrying a knife at Clackton Station that same day, claiming it was just a prop. This case underscores why the ex-ell bully ban exists.
