Man Sentenced for Child Pornography Distribution

0:00It's March 2nd in Birmingham. Let's get into the news. A 34-year-old man from Pell City, Alabama, has been sentenced to more than 13 years in federal prison for distributing and possessing. Child pornography. Tyler Robert Curtis got 162 months behind bars from a U.S. District Court judge plus 10 years of supervised release. He also must pay a $3,000 special assessment under the Amy, Vicki and Andy Act. The trouble started when investigators got a tip about child pornography uploads to a social media platform. Agents from the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation traced the internet address back to Pell City and searched Curtis's home on September 11th, 2024. Forensic checks on his C cell phone turned up illegal images along with proof he had searched for and downloaded more of that material. Curtis pleaded guilty in September 2025.
