It's April 13th. I'm Cory with the story, and this is Tampa Bay News today. Local news powered by AI. A tragic boating mishap hit St. Petersburg, Florida, over the weekend, when a 63-year-old man named Lev fell overboard during a family outing. On the water, Lee had some medical issues and started out wearing a life jacket, but it looks like he took it off before going in. Search teams jumped in right away on Saturday after he vanished underwater. Studies from all over pitched in, including the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, the U.S. Coast Guard, Fire Rescue Units, Eckerd College, and Ford Efficient Wildlife folks, combing the area for two full days. Then on Sunday, just before 3.30 in the afternoon, the sheriff's dive team found Lee's body about 19 feet down, wrapping up the intents. Hunt. Officials are calling it an accident for now, but they're still digging into the details to make sure. Having the family to grieve this tough loss.
