A 59-year-old man lost his life after being struck by an Amtrak train while crossing tracks in Pettis County, Missouri. The incident unfolded around 7-10pm on Monday near U.S. Highway 50 and Highway TT as two pedestrians tried to get across ahead of an oncoming westbound train. One person made it safely to the other side, but the man did not and was pronounced dead right there on the scene. No one on the Missouri River Runner, which was heading to Kansas City's Union Station, ordered any injuries. Officials have not named the victim yet and they're looking into what led to the crossing attempt. That's your update from Kansas News Today, powered by AI. I'm Corey with The Story.
