On March 19th, a 33-year-old man from Workshop has been jailed for 13 years after raping a woman he knew. Luke Frost followed her home, following a random meeting on May 13th last year. Doorbell footage captured him sexually assaulting her right outside her door before he forced his way inside. Once in her living room, Frost ignored her protests and carried out the rape. He spat on her and hurled verbal abuse throughout the attack. With his history of violence against women, this was a brutal ordeal in what should have been a safe space. As she tried to call police for help, Frost grabbed her phone to stop her. She managed to get through anyway and offices rushed to the scene. Frost fled but was tracked down and arrested the next day. At Nottingham Crown Court last November, he claimed everything was consensual. The jury saw through that and convicted him of rape and sexual assault. On March 13th, the same court handed down the extended sentence. Nottinghamshire police praised the victim's courage, noting how her evidence ensured this predator faces years behind bars for his crimes.
