A 40-year-old man from Harworth has been jailed for six-and-a-half years after sexually abusing an underaged girl he groomed online. David McQuarry targeted her last August and September, knowing her age and convinced her to meet at his home several times for the attacks. Around the same time, he tried chatting sexually with who he thought was another girl online. Turns out, it was a decoy from a child protection activist group which led to his quick arrest. The real victims showed huge courage by coming forward to police, revealing the full scope of his crimes and making the case possible. McQuarry pleaded guilty to seven counts of sexual activity with a child, three counts of inciting it and charges for sexual communications.
