Man Faces Trial for Alleged 20-Year Drugging & Assault

0:00On March 20th, a man in his 60s from the Stottport area faces dozens of charges for allegedly drugging his wife and sexually assaulting her over. More than 20 years, starting in the early 2000s, he denies 48 offences in total, including a tax he carried out alone and others involving different men. Between 2023 and his arrest last year, prosecutors say he invited more than a dozen other men to join in while she was unconscious. 13 defendants in all appeared at Manchester Mincel Street, Crown Court, ranging in age from 28 to 73. The case spans two decades of alleged abuse, with the husband facing 23 counts for solo incidents, eight conspiracy charges, and 17. More tied to group offenses. Legal rules prevent naming any of them to protect the victim. Today three men entered not guilty pleas to conspiracy counts like rape and assault by penetration. Men in his 50s had already admitted guilt to similar charges and skipped the hearing while two others have yet to respond.
