Man Faces Murder Charges in Assisted Living Facility Attack

0:00Reporting from the Daily News now, I'm Corey, with the latest in Anchorage. A 32-year-old Anchorage man faces serious charges after a deadly incident at an assisted living facility last month. Jonathan Larson stands accused of second-degree murder in the death of 41-year-old Nicholas Thorn, along with manslaughter, criminally, negligent homicide, and assaulting another resident. The facility houses people with diminished mental capacity, and the attack happened February 6th near East Eighth Avenue and Burgos Street. Police responded around 1228 PM and found Thorn badly hurt. Larson had been acting aggressively toward others that day, according to a caretaker who noted he gets erratic without his medication. He also had blood in his clothes when taken into custody. Thorn passed away from his injuries, February 21st, prompting the indictment, Wednesday. Earlier this year, a judge ruled Larson incompetent to stand trial for 90 days.
