Sydney's story is making news on March 7th. A 62-year-old man from Brisbane drowned at Marcola Beach on the Sunshine Coast this afternoon. Emergency crews rushed to the scene on Beachway Parade, around 142 pm, after he went missing in the surf. Paramedics pulled him from the water and tried to help, but he was pronounced dead at 2-10 pm. The beach had lifeguards on patrol at the time, and his family was already there when it happened. This marks the second drowning on the Sunshine Coast in just one week. On Friday night, searches found the body of 18-year-old surf lifesaver, Joe Tolano. Police are preparing a report for the corner as they look into both cases.
