Man Critically Hurt in Electric Shock Attempt

A man remains in critical condition into Wumba hospital after suffering a severe electric shock while trying to steal metal from an 11,000-volt power line. He allegedly broke into an Ergon energy site on Ascot Street in Newtown early Friday morning around 4.30 a.m. Queensland ambulance paramedics rushed him there and what they called a potentially life-threatening state. John Energy Officials noted he is fortunate to have survived the massive shock from the underground cable, which he tried to cut with a knife. Police are still investigating the break-in and theft attempt, having located him at the hospital soon after the call came in.
