Man Charged with Murder in Johnston County Shooting

Deputies charged the woman's boyfriend, 41-year-old Jerry Ross Williams, with murder, attempted first-degree murder and possessing a firearm as a felon. When deputies arrived, they heard gunshots and saw the teen jump from a second-story window. He had been shot once and told first responders that his mother's boyfriend fired at both of them. The sheriff's office confirmed those details on Monday. Princess Russell was pronounced dead at the scene while her son was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
