Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Speedwell Shooting

0:00On April 3rd, a 24-year-old man from Speedwell faces serious charges after a gun went off in his neighborhood earlier this week. William Scamal got hit with attempted murder and possession of a shortened shotgun following the shooting. It all kicked off around 1.50 pm on Wednesday, April 1st, when shots rang out at a car on Speedwell Road. The victim, a guy in his 20s, ended up with serious injuries and he's still recovering in the hospital. These are calling it a shocking event, but they're on it full force as a top priority case. Senior Officer Detective Chief Inspector Jess Aston says, neighborhood teams are outdoing high visibility patrols to calm folks down and answer any worries. Meanwhile, cops grabbed a man and a woman, both in their 20s, on suspicion of helping the offender. Though they've been cut loose on bail for, now Scamal has the Bristol Magistrate's court tomorrow, Saturday, April 4th, while police keep backing the victim and his family through the ongoing probe.
