Man Charged in Birmingham Porch Murder

0:00A 39-year-old man named Jimmy Daymod Hollis is now locked up, charged with murder in the death of 45-year-old Derek Antonio Blackmon. Right on his front porch in South Birmingham. This went down Tuesday afternoon in the Tituspil neighborhood around 4.40pm on the 300-block of Iota Avenue. Shot spotted picked up at least two gunshots and cops rushed over to find Blackmon unresponsive. Fire and rescue called it at 501pm. In March, the 11th homicide in Birmingham this year, with 19 total across Jefferson County.
