Man Banned from Owning Animals After Cat Neglect

Kenneth Lee King appeared at Manchester Crown Court on February 23rd, where he received his sentence following an RSPCA probe into the cats. Neglect. The investigation started in November 2024, when one cat named Misty arrived at an emergency vet in a collapsed and dehydrated state. Later that day, the second cat, Cleo, showed up at another clinic in similar poor condition, also dehydrated with overgrown claws. Both cats were extremely underweight and covered in a sticky yellow substance. King claimed the neighbor's rat poison was to blame, but he couldn't explain how he reached the indoor pets. He also denied having toxic lilies around, though vets later found pieces of sponge and Cleo's stomach during surgery.
