Man Arrested for Online Grooming, Abuse

0:00This is Corey, with Derm News Today, powered by the Daily News Now. The FBI has arrested 42-year-old Andrew Swinson on serious federal charges. Officials say he used social media to contact a 13-year-old girl and made plans to drive to Nebraska next October to sexually abuse her. Swinson lives out of state and even mentioned a 22-hour drive to meet her. In messages to the girl, Swinson called her sweetie and expressed regret that a meeting wasn't happening that day. He claimed he wished he lived closer and never expected to find someone like her. This online grooming led investigators straight to him. Separately, Swinson admitted to traveling to New York where he sexually abused an infant. He said he met the baby's mother online, visited while she slept, and took pictures and videos without her knowledge. Parents in the community are shocked and calling for more online vigilance. One mother said she speechless and can't imagine it happening. Others stress teaching kids to watch out, noting children often copy what adults do on the internet.
